Do you serve dessert following your evening meal?

Desserts - Great after meals.

It is nice to have dessert following the evening meal, but not every night. Often times we have fruit with the meal. We do have ice-cream occasionally for dessert. I only make desserts like pies or cakes very rarely. Pudding and yogurt is also a nice dessert to have following a meal, not to heavy or filling.

We have dessert after every evening meal even if it is only ice cream. My favourite dessert is pavlova though too sweet to have all the time :).

I just love having dessert. And my husband makes the best desserts. We do love ice cream and cake, but try to have desserts that are a little better for you.

For regular family supper we don't have dessert, per se. I always need something sweet after dinner so I will grab a Tootsie Roll or a no sugar added cookie. The kids will have cookies, or maybe later in the evening they will have some ice cream. But I never have desserts prepared.

First of all I am not to sweet very much, I like salty things. And after eating meal I don't feel like eat anything. Same with my hubby. So, generally there is no dessert after dinner. But when ther are guests in our home we do make dessert and serve after meal.

Since I rarely have people over for dinner, dessert does not happen very often. If I did serve dinner, I would definitely offer dessert as well as who can resist dessert. Dessert is always served by my parents when they have friends and family over for a big meal. I know that I love desserts and always have room for them.

As long as you have the ability to burn off the extra calories for those desserts!

It is hard enough to get my younger children to eat their regular food. But no...we do not feed our children a lot of sweets for a few reasons. 1. The younger children are constantly getting candy as a reward from school. 2. If they think there is dessert, they will eat much less of the good stuff. 3. Two of my children are ADHD and do not need the extra sugar. 4. I am not allowed to have sweets so seeing it is just plain torture.

I always like to have something sweet after my meals. I don't make dessert every day, sometimes I just use tins of fruit and ready make custard. If it is late in the evening when I am having dinner, then I might just have a piece of cake. At weekends when I have visitors, I always make trifle or apple pies.

Honestly- Never well not never-- If it is a big meal! sunday dinner or thanksgiving, christmas, birthday dinners we always have alot of desserts. But for most nights nope-- we have dinner and then later in the evening if we're hungry- we snack together-- Popcorn, ice cream, fruit, pepperoni and cheese-- that sort of thing. I'm never hungry right after dinner to have dessert.

When we were children, Mum always served 'sweets'. These days i rarely have it...so saying..lately I've been trying to change my eating habits...more fish, less red ,eat, more fresh fruit and veggies. I live a long way from the shops so it can be very wasteful if you don't eat things while they are actually edible. I was trying to eat my fruit and one night I dished up some grapes, peaches (bothe fresh and sliced) with low fat ice-cream, berry yogurt (99% fat free) and low fat whipped cream (ahem...the less said about that one the better, lol). Talk about gorgeous, delicious and yummeh all rolled into one. It must be bad because it tastes so good!

I am finding it hard to break the craving for sweets after a meal. I believe it is due to the deprivation of sunlight! Hopefully when warmer weather arrives I will be able to curb the need for sweets.

When I was young we wuold only have dessert after our Sunday dinner and sometimes I dothat here a swell. However I'm more like to prepare a sweet supper like a dish of custard or a biscuit rather than serving it after the meal. I give my kids fruit with breakfast and after school so they don't need it after dinner as well.

I LOVE dessert, almost more than the meal itself :) I have a total sweet-tooth. We have dessert sometimes, of course not with every meal.... not good for the waistline LOL I like to make cakes, sundaes, brownies and the like.

From where I come, it is not customary to have a dessert after a meal. Hence it's only once in a while or when there is a party. In the US most people have dessert or pudding after a meal, especially after dinner (That's what I know, I hope I'm right) I prefer to have a fruit or a glass of milk.

We don't usually have desert after dinner. Sometimes or if it's an occasion, or we have guests. Usually we have a snack later in the evening instead. I love having a bagel with cream cheese or some fruit. I love chocolate pudding. My mother is big on ice cream, coffee is her favorite. I'm not a big fan of ice cream, I have to be in the mood for it. But hey give me a chocolate cake anytime.

I love desert. I can't imagine a meal witout something sweet at the end. It would seem like dinner was not complete to me. I always "leave room" for my desert. I am a weak woman with a sweet tooth.

Well, now that I am on a new eating habit I do not server desert until about 2 hours after dinner. I loose more weight this way, as long as you serve it by 9:30 that is.

I don't always serve dessert because my sister (whom I live with) and I don't always want it. The same goes for my boyfriend. When we are out shooping for groceries for dinner, I will ask him if he wants me to pick anything up. however, when I have friends come over who I don't get to see very often, I will either make or pick up something for dessert. I think a little something makes things feel a bit more fancy and have more of a sense of occasion. Things I like for dessert are strawberries with cream cheese, cut up friut, ice cream, jello, and very rarely pudding. I will only actually do any baking for special events like when I am invited to a party. I like to be theone who brings the dessert in that case.
