It depends on whether you can live on iffy money. Do you have savings. It would be better to keep a steady job and do they other on your own time. When it gets to making regularly the money you make on the regular job then quit. Many self businesses fail and I would hate to see you without a source of income. You should definitely chase the self job, but again play it as safe as you can til you see how things go. I wish you much luck.

I wont suggest to resign yet. As new business really need continuous investment at initial stages. You cannot be able to make money speedily as first you will have to invest. Than at later stages you will be getting something out. I understand new business also need your time and concentration but you can give it time and concentration with your job. If you resign than you will feel more pressure and wont be able to even think freely.

I think you should resign i you want to 100% focus on your business. I know it's too risky.
But if you try hard making money online so you can cover at least 6 months of your salary then you may resign and atsr your business. It's much more safer.

It's really a difficult decision especially if you have a family to feed and you have to have those monthly income. If you can afford your same lifestyle for the months to come if you resign, go for it. Do the math. Being able to give your business a full-time dedication will ensure your success.
