my son who is 27 has ocd.it controls his life everyday. he has a lot of anxiety. he thought that he was hitting people with his car. he has thought that he had some horrible diease. no matter how many times he is told that these things are not true he cannot let go of the thought.he can't keep a relationship ongoing with anyone because of dealing with all these issues. as his mother it is so heart breaking to see his life so miserable.and thru it all he is a kind an loving person. not afraid to show his emotions. i for one don't know how he functions at all.

Well I can't help you with the OCD but I can try with the phobias. I suffer from a form of agoraphobia. I don't mind going out but I am very afraid of crowds. That particular fear actually has a few different names but agoraphobia is the most well known name. I have a tough time doing a lot fo things like going to the store, doctor's offices, the mall..even driving can be a problem. If the roads are too crowded I end up having to go out of my way to avoid it. I get the whole panic/axiety attack with any crowds. Even with family. The holidays are a mess for me because I can't handle being around so many people in a small area. Worse is the fact that too many can be three people besides me depending on the space involved. It does limit my life quite a bit and makes it difficult to do what others take for granted.
