Do you do your housework before work or when you come home?

I prefer to get my housework done before work. At the end of the day, people are beat ,tired and stressd out from a long day's work. I would think that most people would want to get their chores done before work so they won't have to do it when they come home .It seems that I am the only one that feels that way.Everyone I know waits til they get home and I am just curious as to why they do it when they are the most tired. What do you prefer?

I try to do a bit before I go to work and then do more when I get home . The reason I wait and do the rest when I get home is that I know while I am gone it is only going to get messed again while I am at work as while I am gone there is still my husband and the rest of the children here and whoever else comes over to visit while I am at work .

A little of both. That is true. Kids are messy-well so are husbands, lol! Sometimes I think Husbands or boyfriends are worse than kids! At least it's not all heaped up on ya at work.

I always did mine on my day off. I did dishes and laundry every day after I came home. I have been so sick lately that my husband has been doing alot of my housework on his day off.

I hope it's nothing serious! Please let me know ok? I do know some people who wait to the weekend also.My brother and sister in law do the light stuff after work during the week and leave the heavy stuff for the weekend.

I do mostly everything before bed-- I tidy the house up then- do dishes after dinner. I don't have time to clean up in the morning- I'm not a morning person- I have just enough time to get up shower and get ready- Half of the time I forget my lunch and other stuff. I hate waking up to a dirty house -- so I pick up at night- It doesn't take long if you do it every night- 15 minutes or so- Then I do the big cleaning job on the weekends.

For me its more like, I do some before my kid wakes up and some after he goes to bed. Otherwise, it just doesn't get done.

Sounds logical to me. I just feel lucky that i am able to get my chores done before work and the weekend comes. I probably wouldn't be able to if i were married

Oh! of course before work. Once you are tired you dont feel like doing any household jobs. The energy you have in the morning is quite high when compared to later stages. After returning home its only the bed seen in front of you. Once your daily routine is checked you are free to do any job without further tension.

I finally found someone who does the same thing, lol. I love the thought of coming home from work with no chores on my schedule. It's even better when the weekend comes and I have no chores to do except the vaccuming on Saturday. It's so wonderful!

Some people have to get very early in the morning and do not have the time or energy to get housework done before work. Plus a person does not want to wear themselves out and perform poorly at their job. Most people probably only have time to eat breakfast in the morning before work so skipping breakfast is much worse than waiting til later to do housework.

I don't mind getting up early, lol. It's worth it to be able to get it done and out of the way.I NEVER skip breakfast, lol.I will admit it was hard at first getting my chores done in the morning but as I went along ,I came up with a system that cut the time down.

I don't work out of the house right now. When I did though, I did all the work when I came home. Yes, I was tired, but, I hated to rush in the morning with the stress of getting to work on time. I would do heavy chores on my day off, and lighter chores after work.

It seems like most people prefer after work. It's really interesting reading how different people are.I think this world would be pretty boring if everyone did things the same way

Man, when I was working it was a struggle in the morning just trying to get kids up, dressed, breakfast ate, back packs found and packed ...Then MOM has to rush to get ready for her day... What time for house work then? Through out the work week we just kept things picked up, the trash out and dishes done in the evenings after dinner. On the weekends the big chores were done laundry floors, that type of thing. Now I do a little all day long and its not hard to keep up.

I bet it was a struggle! My brother and sister in law are like that. THey all the light stuff on the weekends but all the heavy stuff for the weekend. They also have chores for my neice and nephew to do too.

I'm not sure what my habits for house cleaning are. I have noticed one house cleaning trend though. I always clean when I'm sick. I "threw" my back out and was cleaing with a Swiffer mop from the couch. I think I just try to take my mind off of being sick. I'll have a cold with my head stuffy and there I'll be, using s toilet brush to scrub my toilet.

Every one cannot do their housework before work. They must schedule their time for every work. But this is the problem for the women who r going for the job. Those who r in home can do their work leisurely. But 60% of the people do their housework before work and only 40% of the people do after work. It is better to do the housework before work.

I always make sure my housework is done before work ,that way I don't have to worry about doing it when I come home or on the weekend. From reading these responses though,I can see how some people just can't with their schedules and everything.

I have to admit I don't get a lot of housework done after work. In fact, I had to go to a dr apt this morning and so I didn't go on to my mom's like I would normally. I came home & rounded up all the empty soda cans I could find - they had gotten blown around the yard, were tossed in my car, etc. It only took 40 minutes to do it myself, so it would've been even less time if the roomie & I had done it together, but we've been too tired. But I also know I'm not going to drag my fat, lazy butt out of bed early to do housework.
