I hate when someone you have been close to for a while, a co-worker or other friend, slowly drifts away. You used to spend so much time with that person, but now that you do not see them everyday or very frequently, you hardly see them at all or talk to them on the phone. Every time you try and get together, something about the plans fall apart.
I have a couple of friends like that now, and will probably have couple my husband and I know well happen with as well. I am dreading it desperately, despite all the talk to prevent this. I hope for the best, but try to prepare myself for the worst.

You bet! I hate goodbyes especially when it involves good friends or family members. It's ok if we don't stay very far away because we can still see each other easily. However, if it's a case where we are staying in different countries, it's really very painful to say goodbye. The emotional pain is equivalent to being cut by a knife.
Thankfully, with all that technology today we can still keep in touch through many different means. Still, I don't like to be apart.

I hate goodbyes also , I think the majority of us would say this .
When someone leaves I am not sure what to do with myself as there is always more to do when you see someone you haven't seen in awhile , even if it means just catching up . Like you said I feel lost and alone and have cried when people have left also .

I don't say goodbye. I always say we'll see you soon and hope that it's true.

Yes, especially when its us leaving our family and home for another country. I have moved to two different countries and its always hard leaving family and friends behind. When I fell pregant, I went back to New Zealand to give birth because my mom and twin sister where there and both had been through it before. I cried at the airport when my son and i had to leave 6 weeks later, and was depressed for several weeks before I snapped out of it LOL - I miss my twin sister :(

Its never easy to say goodbye to your loved ones. But since they can't be with you always so they have to leave you and get on to their own work. Some things in the life are bound to happen and things are not under your control.I make up my mind that I have to see them off so even I don't like it but I have to say them goodbye.

I think that I'm good at handling good beys but I prefer it fast and cheerful, if someone is taking it badly it has a negative effect on me too.

i certainly do!just imagine that if you and your partner are going to be apart from each other for a long time, and now its time to say goodbye,GOD!so sad!i cant even say it.also saying goodbye when you and your friends are having a good time is annoying.if someone leave and say goodbye in the meantime of a friends gathering, how will you feel?do you find it a bit disturbing?

I do not like Good-byes either.
My Grandpa did not like them so much that he never said it to us in real life or on the phone, He would smile and grin and respond to a wave, The only time I heard him say the words Good-bye in my whole life was the day before he passed on.
And I responded to him in the same we he used to to us. "There are no good-byes, only see ya laters" ...
And With the Spirit work I do etc. I truely believe this is right. Things and life changes... But eventually Everyone will meet everyone else again in some form in some way another day...
