One word I would use to discuss marriage would be friendship. I know there is alot more to a marriage than this but I think if you are friends with your spouse you stand a good chance of staying together. You need to be friends.

for me marriage is summed up in one word that is, partnership. I think marriage is a most potent partnership and one, if right, that can change the world

I would have come up with a lot of the words that everyone else had already said, so I thought I could add a new one that no one had used. "Compromise."
A lot of times, marriage is about having two opinions, two options, and two ways of doing things. Ofter times, we are made to compromise with one another to get things done and to make sure that everything happens smoothly.

To my mind, there is one thing which will immediately crop up, 'family'. Whenever a couple takes their stance at marriage, it will always be in order to have a family of their own.

I would have to say "Interesting" there is never a dull moment when you are married and have kids. You learn something new about yourself every day.
