I have heard so many times in the news and in the newspapers how our generation of children are lost. Do we as parents teach our children to respect others? Do they know how to feel empathy for others? Do they even know how to love?
I often wonder if our own generation has lost sight of 'the family'. We have to have two income families to even scrape by. Our children are being raised by the public school system, tv's and video games.
Our government and self righteous organizations have pulled prayer from school.
The cost of living is so high but paychecks never change.
Our children are left to learn the facts of life thru tv, and video games.
I gave up my job to stay home with my youngest two. I pulled them out of public school to homeschool. I put prayer back into their lives. We live week to week, but we make it work. I have put our family first. This was a drastic change for our lives... but I want my children to learn respect for others... I want them to know how to empathize... and I show them how to love!!!

I think that it is important to teach your children respect, empathy and love. I do think though that you can do this without homeschooling them. The school system, I agree, doesn't do this, but there is plenty of time out of school to teach them these things.

I chose to homeschool my youngest two. It was a personal decision. However, not all can or wish to, and that to is a personal decision. Whatever the decision... respect, empathy and love should be taught to our children. The problem is, time. Alot of people do not find the time to do this and rely too much on others. Thank you for your response!! :-)
