Hey Bakers, I need your help

Cherry Pie - my fruit pies always boil over the crust, do you have any tips for keeping the juices on the inside?

When baking fruit pies. Mine always look like such a mess! do you have any helpful tips to prevent the over boil? or how to remove the baked on fruit juice from the crust? Just look at this cherry pie, this is what I am talking about. How can I present this to guests? all that cherry juice sitting on top of the crust. Bummer.

Have you ever tried to use a pie whistle it allows the steam to escape while preventing it from boiling over?

Have you noticed that some recipes call for a few dots of butter before you put on the crust? I asked someone about that once as it doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but they thought that was what prevented the boil over. I'm not sure there's anything you can do about the lattice crust boil-over. That's really just the way pies look!

I think your pie looks gorgeous! A little overboil doesn't hurt a thing. If it really bothers you, the only thing I can suggest is (1) use a deeper pie tin or (2) don't fill the pie as full. I don't think there really is another way.
