My son just turned two and is soo terrible!! I just want to run away screaming!! He doesn't listen to a word I say, he just looks at me and smiles. I am in the kitchen trying to start dinner tonight and he gets my metal vegetable steamer and takes it in the living room (I didn't notice he took anything with him) and he started banging it into the entertainment center!! Of course making big marks in it that can't possibly be fixed...oh my lord I need a break, good thing daddy is suppose to get off of work early tonight. Why are little boys so miscievous??

It's not just boys. It's girls to. I promise you will get through it. When my son was 2 he took our remote control and hide it. We begged him to tell us where it was. He just sat there watching his cartoon. When it was over he got up like nothing was going on reached under the stove and got the remote out walked over and turned the channel. You see he is 16 now and somehow I made it through. You will be alright.

I have 2 little boys. One turns 3 in April and one is 19 months old. They are wild men. I find that gates work wonders and putting them up in their rooms in their cribs work well too or putting them in timeout to where they can't get out and can't hear you works well. I am extremely consistent and I still have problems. The not listening is what drives me bonkers. I know plently of people who have girls who have never had to childproof but I swear with boys, it's a must. Everything is locked in our house, gates up, etc. If not I would be in the insane asylum by now :)

It's not just boys. In fact my son was pretty easy. Of course I didn't think that at the time but now that my daughter is getting close I can see she is way worse than he ever was. I am going to have trouble with this one. She is only 19 months. I feel your pain. Hang in there. Just think about his bedtime, then you can get some peace.

I don't think it's boys perse, I think 2-3 are tough ages. My youngest is 4 now- it gets better. Not so much into everything, being destructive, etc...but you have to let him know being destructive is not a good thing, otherwise it will be sure to continue.
