please tell me your favorite band. I like Portishead, Massive Attack and Blue Foundation.

Yes, I love trip hop! Portishead and Massive Attack are among my favorites. I've never heard of Blue Foundation, so I will have to check them out. Some other trip hop (or trip hop inspired) bands that I like is Daughter Darling and Hooverphonic.

Unfortunately many people didn't hear about Blue Foundation, a Danish group, until the Twilight movie featured their song "Eyes on Fire"... two years after this thread was even originally started. Oh the irony...

I like Portishead a lot, I'm actually in South Wales in the Uk & can see the city from here on a clear day, which is where Beth Gibbons is from. I'm not usually into this type of music at all, but their first cd Dummy is brilliant.

agree... for the last year I didn't hear much about them. Their site wasn't recently updated either. But I really hope they will bring us more of their wonderful music.

Also instrumental dowmtempo/trip-hop bands/artists like: Bonobo, Amon Tobin, The Moscow Coup Attempt, Funki Porcini, The Herbaliser, DJ Krush, DJ Cam, DJ Frane, Air, Urchin, Skalpel, J.C. Lemay, DJ Shadow ...

Trip hop is really phantastic. I love Massive Attack (have all their songs:-) and Portishead, and also Goldfrapp and some Gorillaz songs. Don't like Tricky so much and didn't know Blue Foundation, which of course I'll try to find immediately on youTube!
