I was molested by my step-father from the age of 3 to 15. I have started writing about it and completed about 20 pages. My husband has been encouraging me for the last 10 years to write it. I'm not happy with the way things are going and I'm afraid I will lose my motivation. I believe I need help to write it, but I really don't know how to approach that idea. I feel it's something I must do. Any suggestions about how to find someone to help with me with this will be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your suggestions/ideas.

I'm sorry to hear about your childhood. I too suffered a very traumatic childhood. As a writer I have been trying to get the complete story on paper for about the past 20 years. It is tough. It's hard to get those feelings and memories to the surface and deal with them sometimes. I too feel like it is something I must write, for myself and for others. It's wonderful your hubby is supportive, mine is too. In fact, mine can be over supportive, he really pushes me to get it done, lol. Are you trying to write in first person? If so, try writing in third person or visa versa. I have some websites that have been helpful as well. I'd love to help you out and share ideas with you in order to maybe further both of our stories. I have also written other things; I have articles published in both print and online media, short stories and poetry published as well. I have also completed another manuscript that is an historical romance. It seems harder to write about myself though. Let me know what you decide.
