Aberdeen is in Scotland UK, And the idea of ARISAN in Aberdeen is basically for all the Indonesian Ladies to gather once a month and what happen in ARISAN similar to your "multiculurism week ",only we have it for once a months.
And since the Host is always Indonesian we always have a plenty of Indonesian food.Normaly fish or sea food and also curry similar to Malaysian and thai or chinese but depending on from which part of indonesia the food come from it could be more spicy or sweet and in some part of indonesia we use less coconut milk then others.
Of course you also find other country food every now and again...thx you for your interest...xx

I have been to Indonesia myself two times already. I love the people and the food. I am not very curious about the food, when I got something quite simple its already ok for me. I fancy sateh made of goat with peanutsauce (spicy one) and just some plain white rice beside it. Also I like what they are doing with the veggies, making different sajoers from them. They are lovely also.

Great to know somebody like my country's food, You know sate is also my favourite and of course in the Netherlands it's quite easy to find nice Indonesian food. I know it because my husband is Dutch and I go there about 4 times a year I even get my spices from there...xx
