yesterday, i saw a special feature on handicapped people on tv. some of the stories were so heartbreaking, i couldn't help but shed tears. it brings to mind how truly blessed i am. and here i was, constantly complaining even about minor details when there are a lot of people out there who have incomplete bodies and minds and are still content and thankful. i'm ashamed. it was really a humbling experience.

That is so true, sometimes I get so wrapped up in my own little world with my little problems, needs, hopes etc that I forget about all the people who deal with far worse situations every day. I did a couple of days at a special school when I was childinding a few years ago and it is heartbreaking to see some of the children there and how poorly they are in so many different ways. Thank-you for reminding all of our friends here how lucky we are!

it really is so easy to forget when we're so wrapped up with our own affairs. sometimes, it's advantageous in many ways, to take time out to look at the world around us. and to take time to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings.

Billy wanted to get dressed up for Comic Relief Red Nose Day today, we even managed to dye his hair red with a 3 wash dye, he's come on so much this last year and was really good about not touching etc and letting me wash the dye away. This time lasy year I wouldn't have been able to do it for him, so you see little blessings attend us every day and all we have to do is look to find them. We really are very lucky in so many ways.

Good post! When I complain about my work, I try to turn it around and thank God I have a job and thank God for my boss. When I'm tired of all of the pain in my knees from my osteoarthritis, I try to thank God for the strength in my legs and that I can still manage to walk. If I've had a night where I had to get up every hour to go to the bathroom, instead of focusing on my aggravation, I try to thank God that my bladder still works and for the exercise! LOL! It is so easy for us to sometimes focus on our bad stuff instead of being thankful for everything that we have! And if we look...we can always find someone with bigger problems then we have! Thanks for the reminder!

God knows i need to be reminded a always, too. it pays to watch reality shows sometimes, at least those with substance.
