House is amazing, but is it real?

I think House is an exaggeration of the old school, brash doctors that we see in the hospital. They are not unfeeling, they just believe that getting to the correct diagnosis and treatment is what will ultimately help the patient, without the accompanying handholding. I think House is a patient's nightmare when it comes to rapport, but I would love to train under him :)

My guess is no, but I so adore that character!

I've known some crabby doctors. But, I've known more egotistical doctors. I have seen a couple of doctors who were teachers at a medical school and treated the students and interns like dirt. As far as House goes, it is pure tv. How else could you save the patient in a one hour episode?

I don't know, I never knew something like him that's why I like him. I think he's the "voice" of all the doctors, they sometimes want to say something but they don't. House does, that's the difference between him and the doctors from the real world.

You know I agree it's doughtfully House exsits but I do wish he did. Even though he has isuues everyone does were human (and ya so tv issuse happen in real life been there maybe u 2) some scary he works hard to find the answers and by the end i'd say 9 out a 10 times he get its right. I have a very ill mom and I know hands down my mom would want house cause she'd problably not still be in the hospital a 1 1/2 with no diagnoses. Anyway wishes. BB smiles

I don't work at the hospital or anything, but I do not think there is anyone who is like House. He would definately not last long in the profession. lol. I love him though, but some of the stuff he does would have gotten him fired by now. lol

I know I've come across nasty people in doctors offices and hospitals, but I've never seen anyone like House. Even when I used to do temp work in hospitals, I never met anyone like him. Also, I think a lot of the diseases and medical procedures they mention on the show are made up. ER is a show where things are more medically accurate. Grey's anatomy does a good job as well.

I can't say I have known anyone that fits that type personally but I have met a few that sure seem like it. Specialists get so involved in the technique that they forget the patiant is human and have human emotions. That describes "House" very well don't you think. And yes I have run across some of those. But they are usually really good at what they do so easy to overlook.
