hi there well i had a scare with the cooker when i was younger as a child and ever since then im scared to cook anything, im getting there and cooking chips and burgers now but it's taking me forever to let this scary time pass away from me, so up to now i still wash all the dishes as much as i hate doing them but id rather be safe than sorry again, lol! =)

I'd also rather cook than do the dishes. I really like cooking and I think i'm pretty good at imporvising and putting things together (I'm definately better at cooking than baking!) But my boyfriend likes to cook too, and is pretty good at it (he's always looking to expand his list of things he can make). So we take turns with the kitchen chores. If one cooks the other cleans, it usually works out pretty well. I think the good thing is that both of us tend to clean as we go when we cook. This way the one who has to clean dosen't have too much work.

I hate to cook! Before we were married I told my husband to be that I didn't cook. He said, "What do you mean you can't cook?" "I didn't say I couldn't cook, I said I don't cook." I should have let him think I couldn't!
The only thing domesticated about me is I live in a house! I'd rather be on myLot!

Well I have been a single guy for over 15 years now.. I tried the marriage thing years ago and I did most of the cooking.
Now I still love to cook and love really good meals. I don't order out and seldom eat in restaurants unless it is work related and I am out of town on the job..
So being single, of course I get to do all the dishes as well.
I have this self imposed rule however, that I don't go to bed with dishes left in the sink...Works for me.

It's all up to the relationship. My wife and I have agreed that she will cook and clean during the work week. I will contribute equally on the weekends; i.e. watching the kids and doing laundry. If I were to work all day and cook and clean she would feel inadequate...even though she will probably like it at first.

If your wife is a stay at home mom, then yes, i believe it becomes her "job" to do the cooking and cleaning and childcare duties, not because it is a woman's job, simply because it is the job she chooses to have. As long as she is not made to go to work as well as doing all the cooking and cleaning!

Oooh, ooooh. Same thing here! Hate, hate dishes. And I hate what it does to my hands even more. Ugh. So I cook instead. But most of the time, I end up just watching the TV because BF insists on serving his princess. Hee.
