Rape - What are your opinions?

Sry to hear sad stories of you guys being raped,i can understnad how much you hate those people. Well,i think your parents had to teach you that, if you are raped,you should report it immmediately to the police,it doesnt matter who didi it. Advise to other girls:When you raped report immediately to police,if you dont report soon,the physical evidence may be lost,and eye witness will be hard to find. If you report soon,the police will take you to the hospital where you will be given medication to prevent HIV/Aids

I also have been raped and it is a horrible experiance. I was raped by a stranger and I told my mom about it as soon as I came home. My clothes were ripped so I really had no choise- Anyways we filed a police report but they never caught the guy, I just hope that he will burn in hell for what he did to me, and probably has done to others!

Thats a sad thing to happen to any one. He had not right regardless if you two where getting married or not. And i hope that you did not get married as if he was thinking he had that right then, he would always think that. Rape is Raper and you should report him. And its good you told your mom. If those who think they have no one to talk too, they always have those crises lines and centres you can go to and ask for help.

Raping is a visl thing and its shocking how many people have actually experianced, considering all those who don't even tell anyone aswell. It seems to be ALOT more common than people realise. from so many people i have spoken about 50% of the girls have been sexually abused, and many attempted on. Unfortunatly the system stinks for prosicuting rapists and it becomes what he says and what she says, and they forget the girl has had to go through the ordial and THEN have to argue her case so other people will belive her so he can be found guilty. It is disguisting. The only hope of being able to posicute a rapist is to go immediatly to the police so they can find evidance, but many girls find the ordial so trammatic it can take a minimum of days to come out of shock and face the injustice. With such a small percentage of convictions im not suprised many girls dont bother to try to convict the rapist. The justice system needs to be fixed! I am truly sorry for the ordeals of you all, i myself have faced it and i too didn't do anything about it. Also, my freind was gang raped by 6 guys and beaten to a pulp and from what i heard, nobody was convicted because they couldn't find out who they where.

You are completely right, this is never right, not even when it is a husband forcing his wife (yes, that can happen!). The problem is that this problem is not taken very seriously by authorities in many cases, which is quite unfortunate. I think if enough people pay attention and point out the problem, the authorities will eventually have to do something about this growing problem.

Wow. You really should have reported it. Rape is rape. Its a crime. I was raped about 8 years ago, and its not fun. I was in the hospitol for a couple days. The scum that commited the crime got to walk away free. Police had pictures, crime kit results, but none of that mattered. The reason why is because I was told to move on with my life. So I did, I moved. But because I moved they dropped all charges. I learned that about 3 years ago, the man that rapped me, rapped a 14 year old child!! He is now sitting in prison for the next 17 years. I'm glad that justice has finally been served. To be honest with you, really, it shouldn't have mattered that he was your boyfriend/fiance. He he loved you enough that he was going to marry you, he could have waited..

it is never ok to rape or get raped. you should have not waited even though he was your BF/fiance. did he marry you finally or not? i think you should file charges on him if he is not married to you. raping anyone is not right and am totally against it.

Are you sure any reaction is fine? This post is really agitating! Not because of your post in itself but the fact that i hurt with you you are not alone! I feel so much for you. A rapist should be hanged upside down in a tree after his "nuts" to slowly die. Or he should undergo surgery where everything he uses to rape with is removed from his body. Then put for a lifetime in jail. I know im harsh now but god i have had dreams through the years where my rapist would undergo awful things. Hes still out there. Not so young anymore and my youngest sisters father. I fear for her. She still loves him and wants to be with him. She will be 16 years old soon. The same age i was..... I did everything i could but nothing happens. Im going to take his life and go to jail smiling if he ever touches her!

that's terrible that someone you loved did that to you. talk about feeling powerless. I hope you broke up with him shortly after. I think that rapists who are convicted of raping once, should go to jail and be forced to take counselling. If they rape twice they shoudl be chemically castrated. As for you, I hope that you are seeing a counsellor about this. I'm so sorry.

Rape is a crime, we all know that! It has a big big big punishment for those rapist! Rapist should throw in jail and realize what he've done to his victim and later on, ask for forgiveness and stay in jail for life!

in ur story i think u also wanted him to do so as u r givin the logics from his side as well so if u want urself then its not a rape. secondly the one who does it should b thrown out/seperated of the society so he should realize and on the other hand others should be saved from him

I think that a rapist should be put in a room by themselfs where they are raped themselfs continually. It is not right for anyone to force themselfs on someone else. In todays socity it is hard for someone who was raptied to go and talk about it with someone else because most people will think negitivly on you. If you have beedn raptied then most defiently you need to tell someone right away. You should not wait to tell someone. I am sure everyone has someone that they can trust either a mother, father, friend, sunday school teacher, pastor, rabbi someone. Your mom was right it is never ever ok to rape anyone at anytime.

rape is not a human act, when you love some one, you need not rape, rape is an animal act. it should be punished ...to the extend that i cannot explain. because it has no limits.

I think a rapist should have a capital punishment of being amputated. The violation it does to a woman and to a man. Since it does not only happens to us women but also happens to men as well. I think they should be punished. And that they should be amputated. Cut if off. Cut it off.

Such people are worse than animals. This is the reason institution of marriage is important or else people get frustrated and lose their ethics for lust.

RAPE is the most awful thing to happen on earth n i feel deeply sorry for u..i must say that the guilty must be punished and the pocile authorities should be very strict to them in jails. life becomes very sad after such incidenses i strongly condemm it.

I think, in this case, someone close to you is very important for you to tell them about it. Because this kind of thing can give you a trauma. Most of the people cannot handle it alone, they need people to help them. And for the rapist, i think they should get a very worst punishment, to make them regret for what they have done.Maybe the victim also can take part for making a decision how to punish the them.
