Ok, I have this picture that I took of my daughter a few months ago. It's funny, cause I saw the picture after being developed and thought wow, that looks funny. And I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the heck that shadow was. Now I've showed this to some people before and everyone has their own opinion...and I'm not saying that I for sure think it was a ghost or spirit, but I do have to admit that it's very strange considering there's no other possible explanation as far as smoke or fog are concerned.
The look on my daughters face also seems strange, as if she saw it too.

First of all, let me say that you have a very interesting picture. Secondly, I have done a fair amount of paranormal invetigation though I am not a professional but merely do it for the research aspect. And I have been able in my time to get some very interesting photographs. I firmly believe in ghosts/spirits/entites (whatever you would like to refer to them as). With that being said...
When trying to evaluate a photo, an event, etc as to whether it is a normal, average every day thing or a possible paranormal event, you must always be an open minded skeptic. In other words, have an open mind enough to accept the possibility of paranormal but questioning enough to not overlook the logical.
In looking at the photo, I would have to ask, was she by a wood stove or anything else that could produce smoke? Smoke itself, even by ciggarettes can do strange things when photographed. Was there anything that could steam where she was standing (like a dishwasher)? Steam and smoke CAN be photographed. Fog can also be photographed though I don't think you had fog in what looks like a living room area (with kitchen in back maybe?).
I did bring up your photo in a program I use and the smokey looking substance doesn't look like regular smoke or even steam.
And as a general rule of thumb, children SEE things before we as adults do. This is simply because they haven't been taught by society that ghosts are not real.
I would take more pictures at different times and make notes of anything strange...temperature changes in the room, odd smell, etc.
Keep us posted!

Well, there was no wood burning stove, I'm not sure if the dishwasher was running, but if it was, the steam wouldn't have traveled that way, considering it's behind the large counter she's standing in front of, also there is no smoking in our house, so that couldn't be it either...I dunno, like I said, I couldn't think of anything else that would serve as a "logical" explanation.
Thanks for reading.

I've definitely experienced ghostly activity, and I've definitely seen something that I've thought of as a ghost. I'm pretty sure they exist. I'm also pretty sure that film is the easiest way to capture them as they are hard to catch with the bare human eye alone. So I definitely think it's possible that is a ghost.

I have never 'seen' a ghost with my own eyes, but I was once involved in an impromtu seance in which something(s) tapped all over the table. There were only four of us there, and we all were touching hands so when the table started lightly shaking with the raps and knocks on the table I knew it wasn't any of us... I have no explaination for this, but it went on for over an hour and felt... friendly. So, I do believe in spirits, my experience has me utterly convinced. As far as your daughter, the picture reminds me of a documentary I saw recently about 'ghosts'. In a number of pictures (dozens) of a little girl there was a black 'smoke' that would appear. It never did anything, but it was always hovering around the little girl... a column of black smoke. i would look into this more if I were you... I really wish I knew the name of the film... you would probably find it interesting. My suggestion would be to take more pictures of your daughter and see if the smoke or fog shows up again. Keep us updated!
