Rumors – Do they affect you or rather..do you let them affect you ?

Im glad to hear you are thinking that way and everyone should. I cant stand when people start rumors especially when they arent true. I think people that do that are evil and have nothing better to do. And how could people say anything bad about you you are a sweetie. Dont ever change.

I can't stand rumors or gossip. I think people should find something better to do than to go spread things that probably aren't true or any of their business. It really gets on my nerves. I used to work with alot of people who loved to spread the word or gossip. even though I would tell them that I don't want to hear it, they would come back five seconds later and ask me if I wanted to hear the latest. I got so tired of it. I wanted them to just do their job and let me do mine. If someone spreads a rumor about me, I will go to that person and tell them to not say stuff that they know nothing about because most of it isn't true or any of their business.

Rumors never affect me, people can say whatever they want to say about me, I don't care, if the rumor has some potential to do damage, or if it is something very bad I will consider a lawsuit against the person who was spreading it. Or if there is a need, some more harsh action will be done against the person. But never loose any sleep or got stressed for it.

I dont gossip and as such I stay away from people who do gossip. If they have a need to run others down to feel good about themselves, then they are not the kind of people that I enjoy being around. So No, I dont let gossip bother me because I will not even hear it.

They rarely have an effect on my. Or rather as you say, I rarely allow them to have and effect on me. I was always a bit like this.If someone spreads a rumor about me all I count is with the people who know me. Those know me and can judge by themselves that it can't be true, the other ones... do I really care? no.LOL

well as the saying goes "there is no smooke without fire!!" so i try not to create any fire!! rumours have something correct about it.... maybe they aint entirely right, but they have something right about it!! so y start it??? if ever a rumour is posted about me, i would feel a lil low!! i dont like people thinking about me in that way!!

well, to be honest, rumour definitely have an impact in my life even though it is not very large... i don't like people talking something not true about me... so usually i will confront the person spreading the rumour directly and ask him/her the reason for doing so... i won't let it go on for a long time... but honestly, i've learnt to be more mature now... as long as i know i am doing the right thing and i am not guilty, i don't care what other people say or think about me...

Yes,I agree with you.But most of the time rumours affect only the people who are most talked about.This has happenned with me,when I was in top 10 in studies in my school.BUt I just ignored what people talked about me.And in this way I never recognized that I was setting myself free from tension.

I never let rumors, gossip, hear say any of that bother me. You know come to think about it, ones job can be just as bad as high school kids, everyone want to be in everyone business, or hear what happen to this or that person... It personally doesn't affect me...I let it in any way, and most people around here know I'm not one to bite my tongue over gossip. So, they stay clear of me... It's really sad that some adults can be just as bad and children when it comes to rumors...I let it go in one ear and out the other

Yes rumors raises my blood pressure. Something that is not true is spread about you, and you don't even know about it. Such events make me very very angry. Even I cannot sleep in the night as it hurts me a lot. No matter how much you try to convince people that what they heard is not true but just a rumor, still you will see them wisphering behind you.....it really irritates me. 9 out of 10 times, are the cases, where I fight and prove that the what has is in the air is only rumor, as I get peace only after I have proved my point.Some peole are jealous and just cannot see others happy , so that start unnecessary gossips and that leads to these horrible rumors. What you are doing is really good, at least by ignoring such rumors you are not spoiling your health like me.

I don't loose sleep either...and if I am the subject of someone's gossip or conversation then I feel I have controlled their discussion just by being me. So I am rather impressed that I have that control. I say provocative things to incite controversy. Believe me, I love it.

I don't let rumors affect me. As far as I'm concerned, I know the truth and that's what matters. If someone chosses to believe something that they heard through the grapevine rather than ask me if it's true, that's they're problem and not mine if it turns out to be false. I don't understand why people don't just ask the person that the rumor is about.

i always wonder why lots of people spend so much time in making negative stories about a certain person. what do they get from it? pleasure? as for me, i hate such people. they waste so much energy and time fixing new stories. they should have been authors or novelists or writers! haha! in a way, they can make money our of their wild imaginaton. i used to be affected when i hear negative, untrue humors about me... worst, when being started by my so called friends. it hurts down deep to the bones... i can hardly sleep sometimes thinking if i might have done something to offend or hurt them. asking myself if i do deserve being treated that way. but later on, i realized that no matter how nice i can be to people, there will still be those who love to spread gossips about me... now, i just judge them as envious people.. just jealous of me and so, they make up stories to tear down what i have. but through the years, i developed confidence! i decided that no matter what people say about me, they can't ruin my life. so, i always have my head up! proud and happy!

when i was younger i let stuff bother me,but no more....Thats one thing about getting a little older,you just don,t care what they think.If someone comes and ask me about something and i care to say,i will tell them thats just a rumor,but hey if they choose to believe rumors,then let them...I know me and as long as I know the truth thats all that matters to me...I just say "Whatever" believe what you want to..i could care less...People love to spread rumors,they just thrive on them....I have a friend that is Gay,but im not, and i am married..My ex husband tried to spread a rumor because she has been my friend since we were 18 years old...he was mean as heck to me so I left him because he was abusive,anyway he tried to spread that rumor to cover up his abuse...I just ignored that,went on and I met my husband now and we have been married 5 years...he tried to act like i was gay too...Now i just make fun of it...everybody that knows me laugh at him....she is still my friend and so is her two sisters,we were all raised togeather..I don't care about rumors.i will never lose another nights sleep over non sense....so i say to you I could care less what people say. I am true to ME!

I guess it all depends on what its about. I havent had a "rumor" started about me since I was small and got picked on. Back then that meant I was crying a lot! I'd probably still cry but not let them know it. Rumors suck! I don't really care about rumors or gossips. I'm not affected with it. Usually the people who do such things are insecure; either they're jealous or angry at you. Why would you care if it's not really true?!?!?!? We can't stop them from doing that and all we have to do is to be strong if ever one is a victim. Don't let them win. As long as your family and friends (true ones) still believe in you then you need not worry. Life is too short to worry.

If you will let rumors affect you it will ruined your life. And your right. Why should I care about what they think about me. Are they my friends or are they important to me. as long as I have my friends with me and they know me very well I dont care about people who's nothing to do with thier life.
