Thank you all so much for your help with my post the other day about my chest congestion...well...yesterday I went back to the doctor because Sunday I developed a fever and worsening symptoms..the diagnosis is viral pneumonia and it has set me down!!! I am weaker than a kitten and will be spending most of my time resting..I have a couple of inhalers, prednisone ( which is last ditch for me...I have reactions to it that are no fun)cough medicine, ibuprofen, mucinex and lots of medicated steam...I am to make sure I get up and move around every hour ( during waking hours) so it doesn't become more deeply seated...My posting will be nil or limited, so wanted you to know that I am not ignoring anyone..just unable to put 2 thoughts together today...I will end this post with a question, though, and just know I will get back to your responses in the next day or so (hopefully)...WHAT DO YOU DO TO PASS THE TIME WHEN YOU ARE SICK? Are you a TV watcher? Reader? Books or magazines? ..Do you balance your checkbook..plan your life..?? Or do you simply lay and rest and let your body heal...Every one deals with these little illnesses differently...What's your coping mechanism for getting through it and staying sane?

I am so sorry to hear that you are sick. I wish you a speedy recovery. Try to sleep and give your body the rest it needs. We will be here when you return. I ran to the online florist and got you these flowers to make you feel better. (smile)

The flowers still look as fresh as the day you gave them to me!!!!!LOL...I am still fighting this silly thing...have 4 days to finish some meds and if it isn't better it's off to the hospital for a more intense treatment...:( I'm hoping it will turn around soon.

In the beginning of the sickness, it usually kicks my but pretty good and all I can do is sleep and try to drink something. After a day or so of this I am able to maybe watch some 30 minute shows, I am not much of a TV watcher. After a few days I can slowly do other things like read a novel, get online for a few minutes, watch a movie, or a little TV. Within 3-5 days I feel well enough to call myself human again. I think by then I am stir crazy and get right back into my full routine. Bless your heart I hope you recover very soon. We will be right here when you return.

I am stir crazy but too tired to do anything about it!!! I am seeing the doctor again tomorrow..she is concerned that the meds don't seem to be kicking this thing very fast...she says I may be off work for over 10 days...I have already missed4 work days...I love to come to the computer and try to read the posts..but that is short lived..but it does make me feel better than just laying around...I'm off for my walk around the house ( I either need a bigger more interesting house..or a shut off button for my mind) because as I walk around I just see everything that isn't getting done!!!! Oh, well..if I was in tip-top shape it probably still wouldn't be getting done!!!LOL

Oh dear re4life this pheumonia does not sound too good for you it sounds dreadful actually, so please take care of yourself and I pray that you get well very soon. When I am sick when I am awake I normally watch television and also I read a book, no I do not worry about my money problems when I am sick otherwise it may make me feel worse at times, and the rest of the time I just rest to try and recover more quickly as I can.

Hopefully all the medicine and good thoughts and wishes will start to work soon...I think I may feel a smidge better tonight...but have only been up a while ( supposed to walk slowly around the house to get those lungs working better)..and am ready to recline again...No sleeping flat down..so I've "built" a "sleeping ramp" LOL....Thanks for the kind words and prayers...:)

I hope you are feeling better now.
When I'm sick I usually have a few books close by. I tend to read and rest. My life is always so busy , running from one thing to the other that sometimes I almost welcome the possibility to just lay down and relax :) The problem is that with the kids I always tend to have to get up and do something for them, although they are now a bit older and can do most things by themselves. Actually my soon is very good at telling me to go back to bed because he can do it:)

Books are usually my time passer when relegated to the bed..but with this constant coughing I have had trouble concentrating on the story lines!! TV is a vast wasteland in the daytime.. so I have done as much semi-sleeping as I have been able to ...I think it's a wee better..but still no where near the level I need to be feeling stronger...:)

Sad to hear that you are unwell & now you need to rest..It might sound a lil wierd but first I ask myself why am I suffering?? I strongly believe that diseases are created first at mind level (sub-consciously) & then it manifests in physical body... So chk what went wrong..do self analysis & then do some affirmations... This helps me get back my energy flow in the system
I try to remain fresh MENTALLY...by may be watching good comedy stuff or reading books or watching TV...
Get well soon...RX4LIFE!!!

I love your attitude...I, too, believe that we have amazing power over our bodies...Have you ever read Louise Hay? She has a book called Heal Your Body...The Mental causes for physical illnesses...I will do my self analysis and reaffirm my good health and life..Thanks so much for the good energy your post brought me!!! And the Light...I love the Light!!

Hi I am sorry you are ill. I had walking pneumonia 2 months ago and I was out of work for 2 weeks! I never left the house. I played on the computer and slept most of the time.
Laying down and resting is the best thing you can do for your body. Reading is great too!
Hope you are up and feeling well soon!

So sorry you are so sick! That is no fun at all! If I'm sick enough to stay home from work, I'm usually in bed and forget it...I just sleep a lot. Now, if it is an injury or something, and I can sit in front of the tv...LOL...I'll be watching tv and maybe reading!
