We all know we have the option of public or private school. But do you know if you have the option of virtual schooling? Or is homeschooling an option for you? Virtual schools are becoming very popular right now. They are public schools done at home under the instruction of lisensed teachers. Many states are getting involved with Connections Academy (almost nationwide) and other states have set up their own virtual schools. Virtual schools differ from homeschooling by being run and having to follow the public schools guidelines and curriculum. With homeschooling you have many different curricula you can use or you can make your own, or even unschool! If you knew more about the other options would you have chosen differently for your children's education?

I am very aware of all the options of schooling in this country. I wish I could afford to send my daughter to private school but I can't. At the moment I have chosen state school but I would like to teach her at home but she wants to go to school. I haven't heard about virtual schooling but I think if you have to follow the school curriculm and they miss out on the social aspect I can't see the advantage of it.

The virtual schools still offer field trips and get togethers. Socialization happens everywhere your children go. But I understand that one aspect is a big one for a lot of people.

I know all the option here in our country. If i'll become a mother one day and im still staying here in the Philippines I'll send my children to EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE schools. PUBLIC SCHOOLS here in our coutry really lacks many things. It's not really ideal for educating. I will enter them into INTERNATIONAL school if I have to. haha.. And if im not living here anymore and leave for another country I'll still send them to PRIVATE schools even if it will cost a lot. i just truly believes on the education and values that PRIVATE education gives since I've experienced one myself. Home schooling is never an option for me since it will deprive a child a normal exprience of many things that he/she can learn in school. Like.. "life is tough" haha... :))

I know what is available and what I can afford. With this in mind I've chosen to homeschool my dd and it's working quite well. I know that when DS (15 months) is older, I want to be able to homeschool him. I'm just starting to look into the different methods available. I have my ideas but am not quite sure how we're going to go about doing it. I know we still have lots of time though, so it won't be a rushed decision.
