What's your dream personality?

hmmmmm...... - dream personalities

No, i don't mean who's your favorite celebrity or who would you want to be with, I mean, at night, when you sleep and you see dreams, what are you like in them? It's one of my own theories actually that everyone has a personality in their dreams, sometimes it's exactly like you are in your real life, sometimes it's more of who you want to be, or it's a completely different personality altogether. Me, well, I'm always the heroine in my dreams, you know the savior, always saving other people, leading them, I'm always stuck in some dangerous situation but I get myself and everyone out of it, by my intelligence and superb physical and combat abilities, so i guess i see more of what i wish i could be, OH, and for some reason, my dream personality is a smoker, yeah, go figure, i don't smoke in real life, but in my dreams i'm kind of an addict, a chain smoker. So what's your dream personality like, if you don't know, just think back to your most recurring dream, and how different you are from your dreams in real life.

Haha, good topic! Now that you mention it, hmm... I think I am mostly myself in the dream. Whether or not I am in my own body, that's another thing - but my "essence" is unchanged. And I have seen myself in the dream doing good deeds, wicked deeds, neutral ones too. I would say, the whole spectrum really. My dreams are interesting... I was thinking of compiling them into a book one day. ;P

Actually the credit of this topic goes to you, because i thought of this when i answered your lucid dreaming topic. So thanks for that. Well, I think I'm not that different either except the smoking part, but generally I've always wanted to be the savior than being saved, or to do something exceptional and that plays out in my dreams, but 'who' I am pretty much remains the same. A dream journal is a great idea, I keep one, I don't write all my dreams in it, just the really good ones, the kind that I could make a movie about, because they're so full and interesting.

And wow, thanks for marking mine as the best response.. but isn't it too hasty? It's not even 1 hour and others might want to reply lol. I am not complaining of course. :P

no i think you deserved it because you sort of inspired me to start it anyway, and i don't think it's a very interesting topic for most people, so i'm not expecting many responses.

Nope, You haven't responded here before, and I was actually excited to see what you might have said about the dream personality thing. This has happened to me too. Sometimes I've rated the discussion but actually forgotten to respond or sometimes I have nothing to say but I like the discussion so I rate them anyway. Well, in any case I still would like to know your opinions on this dream personality thing.

Actually i remember what I wrote earlier but I can't remember if I saw it posted, maybe some error happened and it disappeared and did not submit. it happened to me once while posting a new discussion and I had to write it again.. Anyway, back to the discussion, my personality in my dreams is still me but "improved" :) I mostly dream of people I know and places I go to but it get mixed many times with movies that I see or things I read..

Obviously, whatever happens in our everyday life is usually incorporated in our dreams, and it's so interesting when you've watched a movie and then you dream about being a character in the same movie, or something like it. But no one can beat this, I once dreamed of a whole episode of Seinfeld, it wasn't an episode I had seen but an episode I made up, like I was a writer in for the show, didn't remember exactly what it was, but George worked in a bakery in that one, like a volunteer, ha ha.

In my dreams I seem to be people who are weak, submissive...and I do not know why. The odd thing is that for the most part I tend not to be myself, which I cannot explain (maybe I want to escape from who I am?). One of the oddest one though was I was my actual self (one of the rare times this actually happens) and I got turned into a cartoon character!

ha ha, I've had dreams OF cartoon characters but never actually turned into one. Who knows how dreams work, how our minds work, why we see the things that we see, I mean, I don't why I'm a chain smoker in my dreams either but I am, that's what makes dream life so fascinating. I just hope all that smoking in my dreams is not affecting my real lungs, ha ha.

hmm...i like this discussion! In my dreams I'm kind of like who I am now...except for a small thing. Usually in dreams someone is trying to get or kill me...and when other people in my dream get caught in the middle of it I am really heroic and brace. For example: a mob guy was after me and I ran to a field where a couple of high school football players were and after the mob guy shot one I stood in front of the other one and told the guy not to shoot him (prob. funny image of me standing in front of a big football player). But sometimes I am also the victim when someone else is with me. Like, I was being chased by some creature (it was dressedin all black, on a black motorcycle and wore a black helmet-wierd right! lol) Well i was in my crushes car and we were trying to get away from this thing and it was coming up next to us on the motorcycle and my crush was protecting me by holding me down below the window and covering me with his arm I have really WEIRD dreams. You probably realize that already! lol

Hmm... sort of sounds like my dreams too, like the first one, someone's out to get me and I'm running first, but then I'm heroic and I actually save other people. The second one, not so much, well, I'm never the one being protected by anyone in my dreams, I'm always the one doing the protecting. Trust me, I don't think your dreams are weird at all, because mine are so weird too. Except that guy in black on a black motorcycle and a black helmet, now that is sooooo cool!!

hey, everyone seems to like my avatar, and it's a pleasure to be your friend. You know what, I also don't drive in real life, I don't have a license, but I do drive in my dreams, unfortunately I'm not a very good driver in my dreams, usually the brakes don't work and I end up hitting another car or a wall or nose-diving in a ditch, ha ha, but it's not so bad.

Wow vega if I can make you feel what I feel in some of my dreams . WHOA ! I didnt mean THOSE dreams hehehe I often dream I can WALK in the AIR , it might seem trivial to you , but wow what a feeling , its like freedom ,happiness and power and youth together , I actually feel sad when I wake up knowing there is no way I will EVER get that feeling in real life . I guess that is why we need dreams ? About my personality it is mostly the same , except some inhibited desires come out , whether with girls in dreams or with enemies etc in dreamworld I go the whole way which never happens in real life ,but I am generally the same personality .

My dream personality varies really...there is no set personality...Mind you my waking personality is varied as well really..it all depends on my current mood, any given situation or setting I'm in and so on so it makes sense that my dream person would be like that too..

I am going to say that my dreams I am kind of crazy and doing all kinds of funny stuff to people and being somewhat of a Bonnie and Clide thing going on or I should say being bad. I remember one dream once that I was robbing a bank and then the chase was on and then I got woke up.

Honestly, i don't think you read the topic too well, it's not who you dream to be, it's who you are in your dreams when you sleep at night.

Interesting idea, hmm well I suppose I am more calm, serene even, I tend to think things through more clearly when I am in my dream, nothing seems to ruffle me at all. Since I am libra my moods and emotions can swing a bit at times, I like that I have the self control firmly in place but it is the calmness, the serenity I feel that really seems to move me. I sometimes can be this way in real life but I do have the human tendency to be failable, and to react emotionally instead of always thinking things through.

hmm.... i'm a libra too, but i'm never emotional anyway, well in my dreams i'm usually smarter, and i say words and talk about things that i didn't even know that i knew, if that makes sense.

wow, you actually see whole movies in your dream, you should join flixster.com, if you're also into hollywood. Well, i don't see movies in my dream but once i saw a whole episode of seinfeld, but it wasn't an episode ever made, you see this one was written by me, and i was sort of the director for that episode telling everybody what to do, it was a fun episode. ha ha. talk about weird.
