Tattoos...would you get one? Do you have one?

Do you have a tattoo? If so, how long have you had it, do you still like it, do you regret getting it?
If not...why don't you have one, do you want one, what would you get, and what's stopping you from getting it?
I've always wanted one, but I am very indecisive, so I always feared that I would get a design that would mean nothing to me and I would hate it a few years down the line.
I've decided to get one, however, and have found a design that means something to me and will always mean something to me. I love music..and not just listening to the radio or a cd like most people. I love to sing and perform and learn new pieces of music. I was in choir, honor choir, show choir, drama, etc throughout college and simply love every aspect of music.
As I was learning to read music in college, the dotted eighth note was the first note that ever "challenged" me, I guess you could say, since a half note is clearly two beats, and a whole note clearly 4 beats. But I love the dotted eighth note because it was the first note I ever kind of figured out on my own through experience. So I've decided to get a dotted eighth note near my hip bone. It will be covered by my underwear and most swimsuit, so it will just be something for ME..not for the whole world to see. I'm very excited, but very nervous too!! Unlike a piercing, this will be on me forever!

I have a tattoo I like it. It got a little messed up but it's okay nothing big, it's just a star. I think I first got it because I just wanted to have one. After that first one I thought about getting other ones but there isn't anything that is significant enough for me to ink on myself. And if I have something I don't know where it should be. Tattoos are permanent...to an extent...I mean you could laser it off but it will cost a lot more to laser off than the get one. Think long and hard before you get one...ot just be spontaneous =D

I was spontaneous! I got one yesterday haha. I thought about it for about 4 days and decided what I wanted...a dotted eighth note. It means something to me, so I don't think I'll ever regret getting that design. PLus I got it in a concealed area, so no one has to see it if I don't want them to.

I was raised in Southern California and my brother is a tatto artist. I didn't like the forever part of tattoos so I did the piercings. My wife has two tattoos that is a fairy and a butterfly. That is a standard tattoo that she won't be upset about when she grows older. Some tattoos are ridiculous and I wonder if these people will be happy about them when they are older.

Yeah, some people just get them to get them. Thats why I wanted to make sure mine actually meant somthing to me and would mean the same thing 50 years from now.

I don't have a tattoo yet, but would like one either on my ankle, neck or back. Not sure what design yet though. If I was to get one, I wouldn't want it all big or anything and I would like it in a place where I can cover it up if I had to for some reason. Got to remember it is forever! :)

That is a really great design and what a good story behind it. It is very important to have meaning behind a tattoo and know that you really want it before you get it. I am 24 years old. I have 5 tattoos, each has a very special meaning and there were 4 that I kept the designs for a long while before I got the tattoo. One was a rash decision, but has very special meaning and I am very glad I got it and will forever remember the story behind it.

I heart my tats. I've got three, one on the back of my head (the eye of Ra), at the top of my back (Druidic symbol for infinite trinity), and at my base chakra on my lower back (an ankh). They all have meaning, and I like them more and more every day. I like my piercings too but those were just for fun.
