LOL I didn't mind the switch from pencil to pen so much though,I used to miss buying nice pencil sharpners.I still use my pencils whenever I am solving sudoku (a 9X9 puzzle) or writing something that needs editing. But I prefer the pen because my writing is better with that.

I usually only use a pencil if I'm doing a crossword puzzle or a suduko puzzle. Or if I can't find a pen. If I know that I'm going to make a lot of mistakes then I'll opt for a pencil too. Otherwise I really prefer a pen.

yeah i also feel better to write with pencil as we can erase them neatly without having fuss. i also feel that my writing turned out great with pencil ratehr then pen... only good quality pen with little bit rounder tip works good for me.

I donĀ“t like using a pencil except for drawing. I like my writing to be more permanent and I prefer to use rollerball pens, the ones that write really smoothly. My father always used those and always stained his shirts with them, so my mom was constantly tossing them and I would get them out of the garbage to use. Since then, I have loved those pens!

Interesting question, lol. You know, now that I think about it, as a grown up it seems normal to only always write with a pen. I will write with a pencil only if I can't find a pen by my desk since my kids always take them. I do like writing with a pencil though but it feels normal to write with a pen most of the time:)

I agree, I write much neater with pencil. I remember back in the alst year of primary school we could apply for a 'pen license'. It meant that we had to write extremely neatly in our books with pencil and when our teacher was happy with our level of neatness we were given a pen license which allowed us to write in pen. It was such a great novelty being allowed to write in pen but now I prefer pencil anyway!!

I would rather use a pen to be honest.. rather than a pencil. But hey, if I only have a pencil, then I will use that pencil. :P

I don't like pencils. The scratching noise they make as you write makes my skin crawl. ::shuddering::

I prefer pens, personally. My husband uses pencils for drawing, but other than his artist's pencils I don't know if we have any regular pencils in the house! I got into the habit of using pen in college, and then working as a waitress I always had to have several pens, so that's pretty much all I use anymore. They are nostalgic, though.. reminds me of the good old elementary school days!

It drives me nuts to write with a pencil. I feel like I am back in the old days of grade school. Especially when I use one of the wooden ones, compare to the mechanical one. I prefer pen, especially black, but would much rather use the computer. My handwriting is not very legible.

I also like to use pencil. It's so smooth. And its perfect for drawing.
It's much more useful and at last longer the a pen.
