I think it's to give Mylot reasonable amount of time to see if you just copy and paste stupid things like, Great post! over and over. They have kicked people off for crappy posts that are just copied and pasted.
Also, I think it's a motivation tool.

Why would not being allowed to use copy & paste stop you from earning. The discussions here are supposed to be original. Why would you need to copy and paste anyway unless you were taking old material and trying to reuse it.
Actually, after you get 500 posts here, you are allowed to copy & paste, but you are still supposed to use original material. I think the copy & paste privelege is to make editing your posts easier.

I do not agree also on copy and paster others's postings, but I found it a bit distrssing when I need to copy a link...most of the times a make a mistake!!
Besides those of us that have 500 posts....are allowed to copy and paste. Don't they do that for making posting more quick or even copy others's posts??

I have often wondered about the logic of permitting some members the option to copy and paste while disallowing new members the same facility. The idea is supposed to be to stop new members from cheating by copying posts from elsewhere, which is a very poor explanation. It does not really matter how long a person has been a member and this does not reflect on the person's integrity.
However, I do not consider this to be likely to affect a person's earning potential in any way.

Well, they've had a lot of problems with people copying and pasting other people's responses. Just cheating like that. It's even happening now..which is quite odd because it means the person either found a way around it and can copy and paste or they are actually typing what the other person said.
But if they are typing it..then why don't they just type what THEY personally think?
I don't know. It doesn't really matter to me if we can copy and paste or not.

You can use it once you get to 500 posts, I think this is because by then you will have more idea of what is acceptable here and is meant to stop spam.

I think they do that to see what kind of rep you get. You do get the copy and past rights once you get to 500. You really don't have that much longer to go, you'll get it soon. Good luck!!
