When you lose something, do you pray about it?

And do you give thanks when you find it? I was missing a special bracelet, I knew where I had it last, in an old purse, but I did not know where the purse was, or if I had taken it to the thrift shop the last time I took a load. Of course, I thought of this in the middle of the night, and worried, because it was a mom/grandma bracelet my daughter in law had had made for me, and I like it a lot. I prayed for peace of mind about it. I found the purse at home right away the next morning and was able to start my day with thankfulness. Yes, I did also pray in my thanksgiving.

When I lose something I do pray about it but I also thank the Lord for helping me find it. Well for me I lost a ring that was given to me from someone special and I could not find it and thought that it may have fallen down the sink while washing up or something like that but when I moved back to the city, I was unpacking and there it was I thanked the Lord for looking after my ring and now I am very careful not to lose it again.

Some of us do not pray, and some of us do not believe. I find that I would be very empty without the hope and belief. I respect people who say that they would feel like a hypocrite, but I am thankful for the hope that is within me.

Even though I don't exactly pray to get my stuff back, I do thank the Lord when I find the item I was looking for. I've lost quite a lot of stuff over the years, and half the time, it was right under my nose. I'm so near-sighted... Anyways, I'm glad you found your special bracelet.

I appreciate everyone's care about my specific loss, and I like that you are rejoicing with me in finding. It is great to read people's expression of faith.

I have done this many times and I almost always found it about a few minutes later. The only time I haven't found something I've prayed over was when it was totally lost and there was not way I was going to find it anyway.

I sure do say thanks. I lost my diamond ring awhile back, and I look for a couple of days and could not find it. I prayed the whole time that I could find it. When I found it I not only did the happy dance, but I said over and over thank you Jesus. I have not remove that ring since to afraid to lose it.

Fortunately I have not lose anything very important to me or expensive. I thank God for taht. But if I ahve to go through like something this I would pasy about that. If anything goes wrong with me the first thing I do is pray. Also I thank God right after the problem has been solved.

I pray for everything. I also think it is very important to give thanks just for knowing that you can pray for everythings

That is so great! I am glad you found your bracelet and purse! That's the wonderful thing about God--He loves us so much that He cares about our problems, no matter how small they may seem compared to others' problems. I have often lost something and prayed about it, only to find it again, and I do give thanks when this happens!

I definitely pray about it. Sometimes it is not my initial response and I end up frantically searching. Then I stop and ask the Lord to help me find it and I ask in the name of Jesus. Within seconds he will allow my to find whatever I lost. I agree with you. You must take the time to thank Him and praise Him.

I've never misplaced something valuable. It is usually just something I need so I can leave the house and can't remember where I put it. I tend to rant and get frustrated first, and then I'll remember to pray. I'm getting better! LOL.

Yes, I can identify with that. Certain things, like car keys, I have a method for. That has helped immensely.I think God even gives the method. I am better most of the time, and seldom misplace valuables, but if I do, they seem to be very misplaced.

Yes, my parents always told me to pray to St Anthony if ever I lost something. They also told me to pray to St Jude - the patron saint of hopeless cases. The day I was moving out of our last house, I couldn't find my wedding ring and there was no way I was going to move out of the house and leave my ring behind. We all prayed to St Anthony and I eventually found the ring in my make up bag. From then on St Anthony and St Jude have been on my list of favourite saints.

I once lost my rings and did not find them for 3 years. I had relocated twice during that time. Yes I prayed to St Anthony who is the patron saint of lost things. Eventually I was praying for acceptance of my loss, thinking i must have inadvertantly tossed them out. The occasion when i found them was a very happy one.
I've since lost them again but this time they were stolen from me along with all my other gold jewellery including my Mum's engagement ring which I'd only had a short time. I still haven't told my sisters it's gone forever.

I am sorry that you have such a loss and that your things are stolen. I am glad your life was not stolen as well.

You bet I do, I pray for God to guide me and help me to find whatever I am looking for. He answers my prayers too! Yes, definitely I thank Him for it too. I'd be in big trouble if God didn't help me throughout the day and night. On my own I am nothing, but with Him I can do anything. Great discussion A+.

I learned something from my mother in law, whenever I misplaced something I must say "Holy saint Anthony, give back to me that doesn't belong to you" I translated from dutch, and my family sometimes laugh at me, but when I find my stuff back ,they don't think it is funny anymore. It really works for me.
