Esperanto is a language that was created in the 1800's to be the international language. It is mostly slavic with some Romance languages sprikled on top of it. There is no noun conjugation and it's mainly subject, verb, action; just like we try to do in English.

Yes, I've heard of it, and I actually went on to learn some words at some point:)
Esperanto seems to mean more or less: One who hopes.
It was created by a Dr. Zamenhof in Poland by the end of the 19th century,as an auxiliary language. He hopedthat this language would contribute to peace and understanding in the world.
Experts say that esperanto has a simple and logical structure that makes it easy to learn.
There have been experiments in many schools since the 1900's, specially trying to prove or disprove the theory that learning esperanto could facilitate the learning of other languages and some concluded that Esperanto was indeed the right language as a basis for people that wanted to study other languages.
Others disagreed with this, but the fact is that there are more people speaking Esperanto than what we think.
Many use it as a common language between people from different nationalities.
Plus it is fun to learn:)
