Are you ready for Humanoids invading?

HRP-2's height is 154 cm and mass is 58 kg including batteries. It has 30 degrees of freedom (DOF) including two DOF for its hip. The cantilevered crotch joint allows for walking in a confined area. Its highly compact electrical system packaging allows it to forgo the commonly used "backpack" used on other humanoid robots. Kawada Industries Inc. introduced the robot that continuously 'keeps an eye' on the human, to catch the special movements of the body, which are subsequently transformed into commands and operations. Would you like to have your own robot?

It sounds good but I'd put up with a fembot, Austin Powers style if it did housework and stoped Shrek nagging me to do his paperwork etc all the time.

That's the idea. I'd like my own private fembot, as long as she's not trying to shoot me. If she'll do the dishes and cleaning, I'm all for it.

as a kid, i fondly watched japanese animations especially astroboy, voltes v, voltron, daimos, etc.. for that, i wished i could build even just like C3PO. but that was back then, now, because of movies like terminator, cyborg,.. my fascination turned into dread. a lot of "what if" went into my mind..and absolutely i don't want these 'dream machines' take control over us which i'm afraid could possibly happen in the future.

They are really fascinating aren't they .. I would love a robot .. just imagine all the things it could do .. from housework and shopping to taking the dog for a walk .. playing chess and games in the evenings .. and the conversations you could have would be limitless .. Scary really ... it would be so much better than a real person hehehe !!!

It's all a little bit scary for me. I think I'd rather have a dog, even though it will only bring me the paper.

Well this might be changeing the dicussion a little but I beleive that before we have to deal with robots taking over think about the following computer problems that we might have to deal with.Well in the future I would not call them computers but more or less processors that could be installed in basically every electronic device that we will use and yes they will be small. They will allow the Government "or higher level Co./Organizations" to track what we use, do, say, buy, etc. And as for them finding us if they need to, well the tracking chip that will be defaultly inserted under your skin when you are born will help them. "You think that is crazy don't you." Well think of this, they already use your cell phone signal to determine what area you are in if they are looking for you. And they already are starting to track what we do, buy, etc. Think about it, you look something up or buy something online and then within a month you start getting emails and stuff in the mail about that subject. Also as for the tracking chips put under your skin...they already have the option for parents to have them on there kids. Go ahead say I'm crazy, but them look up what I have said and you will see that it is true. Want to talk more about it start a discussion about it and send me a message.
