DVD Burning -- Are You With It Or Against It?

Computer hardware advertise multiple brands to buy DVD Burners. What is your use for DVD Burners? Do you own them or not? Do you make backups of movies that you've rented or borrowed? I truly believe it is wrong to burn DVDs and then go to sell them illegally or rip the DVDs on computers to distribute them illegally in torrent sites. For me I use them to edit videos I took from my digital camcorder and convert them to burn on DVD or I make backups and keep for my personal use. What do you have to say about all of this?

I think that I'm against it but not really sure, because I don't really care. A sad fact is that 99 percent of US families have a computer, and only 10 percent of them know how to do something besides browse the internet. I personally don't have time to rip DVDs and burn them. I would rather download it to my MP4 player (not watch it on the MP4 player but use it as a flash disk) and connect it to a friends computer and watch it or something. I think that it's so much easier to rent a video than download it off of a p2p site. Also, if you're against DVD burning, it's no different than ripping CDs and burning them, except for the fact that you can't rent CDs, but then again you can download or sell.
Anyways I'm not really against it, but I am against downloading free music because most people rent a DVD or buy it, and most people download music for free.
My computer can burn DVD's, and my dad has done it, it takes like 2 hours, and you are unable to use the computer while burning a DVD because it will freeze or just go really slow, and I have a pretty fast computer, it's half a year old, so I think that most people will just rent or buy.

My use for Dvd burners is to make backups of files.
And i'm against burning dvd'd and sell them illegaly.
I download movies from torrent sites and encode them to dvd and later burn them for personal use.
I know it's illegaly to rip dvd's and to distribute it using the bittorrent protocol, but i enjoy it till i can.
