Hello everyone, I want to know which of the Iron Maiden singers they had you prefer. In my opinion, Bruce Dickinson has an incredible voice. I like him the most. Even though, I love some songs they composed while Di´Anno was in the line-up like Wrathchild. What do you think?

Usually, when comparing the first or original version of something to a new one or replacement, the original is better (like most cover songs and some movie remakes), but Bruce Dickinson is a huge exception. He may not have been the 1st Iron Maiden vocalist, (wasn't he the 3rd or 4th, even though he was on their 3rd album?), but he was and still is the Iron Maiden vocalist. I've definitely gotta go with Bruce on this one.

Yeah, that's true, and Symphony X's 2nd (and current) vocalist is the same way, especially since they only had their original singer on 1 album before they got Russell Allen, with whom they've released 4 albums (and a 5th one to come out this year!).

Absolutely no contest what so ever, Bruce Dickenson for sure - I think that anything Di'Anno sung sounded so boring compared to Bruce's unique voice!

You seem to have forgotten Blaze Bayley in your choice of Iron Maiden singers -- 'Sign Of The Cross' is so much better on the original album than the live Dickinson version. Anyway, Bruce does it for me too, although Di'Anno's voice was perfect for the punkish beginnings of the band.
Oh, and you also forgot Dave Wilcock and Paul Day! ;)

Where is Blaze Bayley? He still is one of Maiden's studio album singers and I don't quite understand why The X Factor and Virtual XI are so unrated. I think they both are great albums, better than some other albums, and Blaze isn't so bad singer after all. Maybe his voice is a bit darker etc. but his songs with Maiden are still as great as the ones with Bruce or Paul. Anyway, I think it's pretty hard to compare Bruce and Paul because they are so different singers. But I personally like Bruce more.

I was never into Paul Di'Anno. Bruce Dickinson is the real Iron Maiden to me.

Absolutely. Iron Maiden pre-Bruce was still exciting and dynamic, but Bruce is what helped propel them to success. If this was ever in question, that question was wiped away when Bruce left the band for the span the time that Blaze was installed as singer. Again, Blaze performed admirably, but Bruce was sorely missed. Bruce is the man.

Its a hard choice, they each did/do very well for the time they were in the band, like they say, paul dianno put them on the map, bruce conqered the world

Wow!!! No way to vote... I think... better... I'M SURE though Dickinson is a fantastic singer, songs like "Prodigal Son" can never be played by him... Both of them have incrible voices, different voices, but the best voices!!! By the way... what about Blaze Bailey?

Bruce Dickinson for sure, great voice, and in live appearances he just rocks, I watch Maiden live in Portugal and Bruce was just great. Paul Dí Anno and Bailey never give to Iron Maiden the real power that Bruce voice gives, it´s just perfect with the guitars and the drums and bass, it´s just a great perfect team.

Bruce forever! He is better than di'anno, he has one of the best voices in the story of heavy metal. Yes, di'anno is more aggressive, but bruce has made the legend: Up The Irons!

Paul is awesome, because he was first...I still love his general stage presence when watching live videos...
Yet if you go to Bruce when he was a wee little one in joining Maiden you cannot help but love his frilly hair and tiny pants. :) O, and that voice too.
I'm going to stick with Paul...because he's the man.
