i was brought up to be religious. I now dont' believe in it. What it taught me was that I should allow my kids to question things in their lives as they are growing up so they don't believe things without question.

I dont have a religion. I'm free to beleieve what I want to beleive and not necessarily the teachings of a certain "organization"

what my mother taught me about my religion is that it is all about kneeling on a wood board begging for forgiveness and that the whole bible is full of don'ts. Don't kill, don't lie, don't have any fun, don't think for yourself, don't dare go against the church, don't have your own opinion or you will go to hell. My mom was so bad, she'd use the hell card for everything. If you don't brush your teeth you will go to hell she'd say. Also I learned that you go to church on Sunday in your best clothes and pretend to be a good Christian, then on Monday the gossiping and not talking to the neighbors continued.
So I just figured the whole religion thing was not for me. I decided to think for myself instead.
Not saying that's what religion is, it just is what I got from it. They call us recovering Catholics for reason.
