I had the misfortune of seeing that movie Stranger than Fiction. 1st off, the idea was great, but the way it was played out was horrible. Not only did I feel like following asleep the whole time, but I was actually inclined to clean my house while I watched it. I think the biggest issue for me was that it was Will Ferral as the star of it. I understand the whole idea of comedians now doing drama...it sells big...but Will Ferral? I love Will's movies, and I think that is what upset me the most about it. It looked like one of those movies that he had to do to fill a contract.
Let me know what you thought about the movie, and if you thought it was terrible too. Does anyone know of any Will Ferral movies coming out in the future that my wash this one away?

I HATED this movie. The whole time we were watching it, I was wondering why I had even rented it in the first place. I know that actors don't like to be pigeon-holed into certain roles, but once an actor proves himself as a comedian I find it hard to take them seriously when they try to do a drama. I'm hoping that his next movie, the ice skating one, will make up for this horrible one.

I actually really liked Stranger than Fiction. It was original and offbeat and I think Will Ferrel did a good job in it. I like comedians in dramas like Jim Carrey in Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine... I also like Robin Williams in dramatic roles.

I thought Stranger Than Fiction was okay...and it is not his first attempt at drama either( Winter Passing among some other works), he is an actor not just a comedian and this was not a gimmick film by using him.

I thought it was a great movie and would have been an even better book. It was not a comedy movie, it was a thoughtful drama and I think it worked. It wasn't a stupid movie and it wasn't a light movie, but it was well thought out, even if awkward because Will was out of his element.
Maybe you just didn't like seeing Will Farrell out of his buffoon-comedy roles.
