Murder In My Building

United States

Well, yesterday, I found out that one of the people in the hotel where I live was found murdered in his room the other day. I wouldn't have known about it except that I work for the hotel and someone told me. Evidently, he was stabbed to death, I guess. No one heard gunshots so unless they used a silencer (highly unlikely in this neighborhood), either they stabbed him or snapped his neck. The coroner's seal is still on the door at this point. That's not the only excitement in the neighborhood, either. Friday night I was watching TV when I heard gunshots. I called 911 and the police were here within a couple of minutes and then the police helicopter arrived within 10 minutes so they must have been chasing someone when this happened. Anyway, whoever was doing the shooting used a large caliber weapon because it was so loud and they killed at least one person down the street from me because my neighbor saw a blanket over a body. The police had the street blocked off within a few minutes because I went down to get something across the street and they had police flares lined up. In fact, I wasn't paying attention and almost stepped on one coming back. So, it's been an interesting week around here. What about you? Any stories to tell?

There seems to be alot of murdering and shooting going on around everywhere, that is pretty scary tho that someone in your building was murdered, makes a person stop and think a minute and people are wondering why less and less people are going places or walking anywhere anymore, well this is one reason and it is super sad that our economy and government has let it get this far...It is time we fight back and clean up our streets I believe.

Man that's scary I would not live in that area. With that murder incident I will rather move to a different place to stay immediately without any second thought. I've never stay in the neighborhood that have murder incident...this is also for my personal safety.

nothing new. I'm still at odds with some of co-workers. I don't think we're going to reach a truce, and I'm not willing to initiate it, either. So I'm just minding my business around here, waiting my something to come up until I can move on to another permanent job. I don't see any reason for me to stay here, so I'm buying time until I can get a call from the police department. I want to be a police officer, so I can get stuck there forever without a sword of Damocles hanging over my head. I'm tired of drifting from one job to another. Wish me luck. hehehe

I think you posted this in the wrong place because it has nothing to do with my post and I have no idea what you are talking about. I do wish you the best with getting a job, though.

Stories, yes, but related to the subject of the post. I wasn't trying to dissuade you from posting but I don't even know what you are talking about in this post except for something about work. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, though. It wasn't intentional.

I have no idea where you live but I would not want to live there. I would be afraid, worst that happens around my house is the occasional car get broke into or stolen and this is bad enough.

Good heavens, the most exciting thing that happened to me this week is my garden fence came down in the wind, well 2 panels! I don't think I would like to live anywhere that exciting or were these 2 incidents just recent one off incidents and usually it's peacefull?

Wow what a week you have had. This week in the state I live in a Purdue student went missing Jan 13th and his body was foubd in a ulility room, they say he fell against a transformer. The problem with this is, how did he get in there, two doors were locked and no keys were found on him. (I think he was murdered, how else did he get there with two locked doors) The other major thing that happened this week is an 8th grader pissed in a cup and then poured it into his teachers coffee pot. Gross, I know. The teacher didn't drink it he noticed, a funny smell, went to the office as another student was telling on the student who did it. They found the remains of the piss in his locker. A 19 year old Ball State student started traveling south on I69 in the north bound land, went three miles and hit an SUV head on, then hit a semi. She was killed instantly, the driver of the SUV was injured and so was the semi driver. Thats the major recap of what is happening in the area that I live in, for the last 24 hours.

Nope! My neighbourhood doesn't see half the action yours does. Sometimes people get called into the local courthouse but apart from that it's a fairly safe place to live.

If it were me I would be terrified to live in that area. But it sounds cool that you live and work there too. Aside from routine work clearing up piles of snow, I don't have much to tell. Our families are OK so I guess it's just one ordinary week

That is okay. where i used to live someone had jumped out the window on to on comeing traffic. i guess he was haveing a fight with his girfriend that lived upstairs from him. he went up their to talk to her and found out that their was another man involved. some words where exchanged and he left her apartment and went down to his. he locked himself in the apartment and opened up the window and jumped. the scary part of this all is that i was litterly with in seconds from him falling on to my car with the kids are in the car. after he fell they blocked the street off for more than 3 hours. that was very scary.

I think that the only things that have happened that is anywhere near what you experienced is a police chase on the next block over from where I live. Oh yeah and someone setting my garage on fire...

Murder used to be kinda rare but now it is all you hear of. Yesterday, the courts sentenced a 20 year old man here in my town 99 years in prison for killing a young man that lived not far from me just a few months ago. I remember hearing the gunshots but never knew what had happened. I wanted to be nosy, but i was afraid that I would get shot. But I know this world is coming to an end.

Wow, that sounds like a scary neighborhood to be living in. My weekend didn't involve that much excitement. I did alot of yard work (I am the man and woman around my house) fixed the fence and my daughter and I went on a walk. All in all, if anything like that happened I wouldn't have gone outside at all.
