how do you handle your finances?

I keep my accounts in excel. I check my bank balance every day or so and keep my accounts up to date so I can clearly see how much money I have to keep me going till the rest of the month. I try to save any extra so i can't spend it on things we don't need, as I'm saving up for a new fence as ours has blown down and I also need to get the heating fixed before next weinter.

I handle all of the finances in my home. I make a list each month of all of my bills and when they come in and are due, I go through my bills sheet and I will pay what is due with the money we have to pay them with. I then take whatever is left over and I buy what we need or want with it. I have two separate sheets of paper and one had all of the bills on it and the other one has our income for the month. I figure up what we have going out in bills and I also figure what we have coming in, income wise. That way, i do not overspend and I makes ure all of the bills are paid and on time. I also set money aside to pay bills off also. If I spend any money during the month, I always make sure to dedust it off of our extra money, so we do not overspend.

We try to pay things as they become due. Ahead of time is better. We have what we can, come out electronically and that makes things much easier. We keep our bills in one place and also do not get new bills before we can actually afford them. I wish you luck in managing this important aspect of our lives.
