The age you look

Do you ever get told that you look older than you actually are? Or vice-versa? It is amazing how under so much stress, you can age a lot! Perhaps you look younger than your current age. What do you think these reasons are? I know looks aren't everything; but oh well. Also, have you ever spoken to someone on the phone and they think you are a lot older than you are? How do you feel when they mention this? Do you think this should be taken as a complement or other? Appreciate all your comments.

I am 55 years young yet I look, sound and act a lot younger. I have been mistaken for 40 years old on occasion, very flattering.

Unfortunately i look older than my age :( this can be nice only when you are very young but now it's not a good thing for me.. no one commented about my voice sounds older or younger, i guess it just fit ..

I think I must come across as much younger than I am, I was at a group meeting just a couple of weeks ago when one of the ladies was talking about her age and she said to me , I guess you are the baby of the group, I said oh really how old are you and as it turned out she was 10 years younger than me, I just said I will take that....:)

Interesting for you to share your experiencs with us. So, do you wear clothes that make you look younger; or are do you generally look younger? Well, one day hopefully you can go into video shops to rent M movies and they won't ask for your ID. Well, good luck with it all!

People always think I look younger than I really am. They always seem to be so shocked when I tell them my age. I'm sure they think I sound a lot younger than I am, too because I sound like a frickin' little kid. Look like one, too! Ok, well... I look like I'm about 10 years younger than I really am and I'm 27, so I guess I look about 17. I always say I look like I'm 15. :P I hate it.

I ofte hear these things specially when I ride a cab and the driver ask me how old I am. I tell them that I am 21 years old but they don't believe me. They always tell me that I look younger and I take it as a complement. I also sound young over the phone according to my friends and the people I talked over the phone. Well, these are complements for me. Sometimes looks is deceiving and even our voice.

I think I still look young because Im still young and still did'nt get marriege. Imposible if have a person tell me like as old man. I know Im still young and I want to collect and enjoy my young year with fun and more money. I want to be a millionare and then get marriege. But, the most important thing is patient. Anyway the age I look now I think too young for me to speak the topic like this.

I don't think it is important. What people think of you is not something you have to spend evaluating and assessing. You always know your real age, and it is important to have that awareness. But I don't criticise people when they indulge in little ego-games mentioning the real and what age one looks. It's simply that I try not to fall for that trap.

well its funny because as all teenagers i had a fake id when i was younger, i dont drink it was just to get into the actual premises. I never got ID'd until i was actually of age. So i looked older when i was younger and now i look younger now that i am older. The age to drink in the UK is 18 and i am 20 but i still get asked for id and asked if i am 18. I get offended sometimes when i get asked for id but my friend was id'd and she is 25 and she just finds it flattering. Maybe they are not familiar with how one is supposed to look at a certain age, with children growing so fast nowadays and hitting puberty so young.

i appreciate it either way.. if they say i look younger than my age, i take it as a compliment.. i always look at the brighter side of the situation.. and if you say that i look older than my age, i also take it as a compliment.. maybe you look at me as a mature person that's why you had that opinion.. i love sensible conversations but i like to have fun too once in a while.. i may look younger than my age, but i know i can handle some things with maturity and grace..

I'm 46 and I got told the other day that I looked 31! I was very flattered by this comment. When you talk to people on the phone you do get a mental image of them, when you see them in real life, man it's a real shock sometimes! This has happened to me.

I'm 24, but I routinely get mistaken for a lot younger, around 18 or so. I look young, and tend to act young. I don't drink, so many people assume it's because I can't legally drink. Although, just recently, my 8 year old cousin told me I looked like I was 30. lol
