Have you ever been a victim or known a person who has been a victim of abuse at home...a 8 year old boy who lived in my neighbour was beaten by his drunk father..he got injuries on his head from being beaten by a club..the man was later arrested..but what do you think about such people who beat their own children...

I used to be disciplined by parents with rulers, sticks, shoes, etc. Disciplining is different than abuse. Abusive parents should be made infertile. They should have mandatory social services visits and counseling, paid for by the parents are the state. As long as you are asking about abuse. If you are talking about parents who spank their children, that's not my personal definition of abuse.

I think parents should not beat their children. It is such a violent way of disciplining kids. The best way I think to discipline them is to talk to them in a nice way. Beating the kids is not a very nice childhood memory.

Since the question is what do we think of people who beat their own children, that is what I will answer. I think these people need to be placed away from society to get help and also as a means of punishment for their crime. Yes, I do think "beating" a child is a crime. When they are arrested, I have no sympathy for them, it goes with the old saying, you made your bed, now sleep in it. Those that sow in anger usually reap in anger.
