Getting to bed tips? How to not be a night owl

I seem to have to fight myself every night to get to bed before 1 am or so. Now, I have children that will have me up by 8 am at the latest. I need to find a way to reliably get to bed by midnight at the lastest, preferably 11, as I tend to need about 9 hours to feel fully rested.
My daughter who stays up the latest has been in bed 2 hours already, and yet here I sit on the computer instead of going to bed.
Any ideas?? Any other parents (or non parents) know of any tried and true tips?

I've been having the exact same problem. Here are some things that have helped me get to bed earlier:
1) Read a book or magazine.
2) Play a handheld video game (I play my Gameboy SP).
3) Lay down and watch tv or talk while snuggling with hubby.
The reading and video games help because they make my eyes feel tired and then I want to close them. The snuggling and talking helps because it's the time of day that we have to spend as a couple to reconnect and talk about our day. Good luck trying to find something that works for you!!

Thanks for the ideas. I hadn't thought about the eye strain but your right, it does make me want to close them.
