Dating a Military Man/Woman

Ok so here's MY situation... I am currently a single mom and i have been talking to an old friend from highschool who found me on myspace and he's currently in Iraq. I have fallen head over heels for him.. but the only way we can talk usually is over the internet... and there will be times when he can't get online for days... also there is a lot of miscommunication in emails since you can't really hear the person's tone of voice... he comes home in july for 15 days and then he comes home for good in oct 2008 ... It's frustrating... but i believe it's worth it. I just would like to hear someone else' s stories about dating someone who's in the military...

My theory is... keep your eyes open still. You don't want to give yourself 100% to something that could potentially be something it's not. Then you waste a whole year of your life sitting, waiting & wishing. (jack johnson said that hah) BUT don't stop wishing... if nothing else comes along by the time he gets back, and what you think is there...is in fact there then GREAT... but if you happen to find someone else here that sparks your interest do NOT turn away because of what you think might be...
