MyLot .. My What ? The Basics .. Comments Appreciated

So .. I've been a member of MyLot for about 2 months now. I joined it whilst on vacation and as I had a bit of time on my hands, I got around to replying to discussions that I found to be quite interesting. However being on a dial-up connection, didn't really help.
So initially (before I knew better), I would type up any topics of interest to me to post for discussions in MS Word, thinking I could just copy & paste them over to mylot. Little did I know, this would not be the case, till I reached 500 posts or something silly like that.
I've only had about 70 odd posts, made about $1.40 (and realised that a lot of posts that I was responding to were not being 'submitted' because of problems with the mylot server. Have any of you found that ?
So I'm curious to know the following:
1) How often do you post / respond to discussions ?
2) When can you actually start copying/pasting YOUR OWN WORK into your 'own discussions' ?
3) How and when can you add pictures / photos to your discussions or to other people's discussions ?
I mean I know you can earn money from putting photos up but surely its not by adding them to your profile.
I do come onto MyLot while I'm online (and I use the computer a lot) but find that there aren't that many discussions that are response worthy. Before any of 'my friends' get upset, I'm not referring to you - I just mean generally reading the stuff on here. I do try to respond to discussions of 'my friends' - it's just sometimes I don't get a chance, and lately when I do, I'm experience trouble with server. So it's quite a shame, because if I could copy/paste the answers I have, it would be so much easier for me ! Apologies to the friends, that I've tried responding to but haven't been able to.
Do share your experiences of using MyLot; have any of you had problems when submitting to discussions ? Any help on the points I've noted above - as I've noticed some of you are able to put up photos.
Let's hear your thoughts :)

What's a RICH girl like you doing with a dial up connection? :-P
Umm, one way, the only way you can get around the copy/paste restriction is to HIGHLIGHT whatever text you're typing on an HTML or word document, is to DRAG & DROP into the post box. Easy huh? ;-)
As for posting replies on my friend's discussions, I only do that if that topic is worth replying to. I have deleted so many friends from my list because the start topics just for the sake of it. Which filled in my inbox with spam. I only kept the ones that I regard with high respect.
One thing I like about myLot is the total freedom of starting anything and everything on your mind without any restrictions. So don't worry about if that topic was started before. At least there's no MI5 here. That's what I am here for. Speak my mind without restriction.
~ cheers

Will you ever stop on the 'rich girl' .. this is not a Gwen Stefani song *lol* ! As for dial-up, my parents are in India, and since they don't use the internet, we have not yet gotten wireless at home, so it's sadly dial-up for me. Sue me - I'm spoilt on technology haha
I'll try the drag feature and see if it works - as I do have some really cool topics already written out in MS Word !
Another place with no restriction at all - is soulcast.com - have you tried it ? Give it a shot :)

Hello my friend,
I have read the responses above and thought I would just add on.
Photos uploaded to your profile page do not earn you any money. Only relevant images uploaded with your discussions or responses get paid. For images with your discussions, you can do it already. But for images with your responses, you need to wait till you have posted 500 responses.
It used to be the case that people who have less than 500 posts can still paste 50 characters at a time. I am not sure if this still works but if you have already typed out your stuff, pasting 50 characters at a time might still be faster than retyping. It's up to you to see which suits you better. Note though that my experiment last time showed a max of 50 characters - not words. I think 1 space is 1 character too.
Lastly, I start about 1-3 discussions each day on average. I respond to others' discussions till I am tired, bored or when I can't find any more "worthy" ones. Normally this would be around 50-150 responses a day.
Hope this helps. ;-)

Cheers for your words of advice. I gathered that about the photos on the profile page, and if as you've responded to my chocolate discussion, you'll have noticed I figured out how to add a picture when starting a discussion ! :)
As for the copy/paste scenario - I can't do that even with 50 characters - however SilverShaddow has mentioned how you can 'drag' your work across and that seems to work just fine ! haaaallelueah !
I've not really started that many discussions as yet - but seeing that I can now use this 'drag' feature, I should be putting up a few more posts. However am responding to a 3-5 discussions a day that are of interest to me.

I understand with a dial-up it can take ages, a lot of my friends here complain of the same thing. Of late mylot has been acting up a lot, so we have had many glitches and the like. All we can do is alert mylot about it and consequently wait for it to be fixed.
A day or two ago mylot was very slow, as in the pages were loading slowly and submitting responses and starting discussions was taking several minutes when it should have been seconds. Mylot was doing some updates so the server was down, hence the problem.
I am logged onto mylot everyday and for almost 10+ hours, and I post for about say 6-8 hours..varies. You can start uploading images when you cross 500 posts. You ca also copy/paste only when you have reached 500. I know it sucks especially when you want to do it for a genuine reason and to not cheat...well, its the rule, can't help it.
Hope you will stick around to reach 500 and hope to see more of your discussions:) Happy mylotting!

hey greengal, thank god I'm no longer on a dial-up connection ! I was whilst on vacation and it was killing me !
It appears all the glitches are landing on me *lol* I do also have the mylot page open most of the day - but its only when I get a chance from the work I'm doing that I go on and browse through it as much as I can.
I'll have a browse on your discussions and try to reply to a few :) hope to see you around

1) How often do you post/ respond to discussions?
I usually post around 3 new discussions a day and aim to reply to around 100 but it is usually lower
2) When can you actually start copying/pasting YOUR OWN WORK into your 'own discussions'?
You can start your own discussions any time, you don't have to paste them in. However if you want to do it that way you have to wait until you have responded to 500 discussions.
3) How and when can you add pictures/ photos to your discussions or to other people's discussions?
There is a little link called add a photo where you upload your picture. You can do it to any discussions you like.

Cheers for that. 100 discussions - wow ! I wish I had aims that high *lol*
Ok whilst posting my post, I saw the little link to add a photo (and felt like an idiot lol). Is that only when I start a discussion ? I mean if I wanted to a ddd a picture now, while responding to you - could I do that ? Or did I miss my chance ?
I'm looking around the screen, but only have the 'preview comment' and 'post comment' tabs available to me.

I think the whole thing about us not being able to copy and paaste til we reach 500 is to deter spammers from pasting their links lall over the place. Chances are that if you have done over 500 posts then you ain't going to go and spam the site.
We can add on images when respoding to a discussionw hen we reach 500 posts too. I am nearly there and can not wait.
I no0ramlly start about 5 discussions a week but of course this can vary and I don't do anymore than about 20 reponses a day, sometimes none but I do put alot of effort into them which is reflected in my earnings.
If you are looking for discussions to respond to you could try using the search bar up the top and do discussions, all of text and type in things that interest you or the country you are from.
Try and stay away form the ones that violate the rules as if you have taken part in them and you got paid for it, when they are deleted your money will be deducted.
Do not oofocus too much on the money here or it will totally bring you down. try and build up a good network of friends and enjoy yourself and then they money will just flow in.

I do understand why we can't copy & paste till 500 posts - however it is quite a pain for the people who aren't really spammers. I blog on a couple of other sites and it's such a relief that I can copy & paste, as sometimes if I can't be on the site, I'll just type my thoughts in MS Word or in Notepad.
I'll be checking out your discussions and hope to be able to reply to a few of them when I get a chance.
Thanks on the advice for those that violate rules - I've been reading quite a bit about that over the past few weeks.

OOOOOhhhhh you got a 9star. Well well done. And look I reached 500. So far I haven't copied and pasted anything though or added any images to responses so it's not fabulous as you think it is.
