Whwn did you start using a computer?

I started working on a commodore 64 when I was five years old. I started programming in BASIC when I was around eight years old. I did not start using a PC based computer until I was 14 years old. It was called a '8088', and was the model before the 286. When I was 16 years old I found Linux and started programming in the C language.

I started using computer in 17 years old. I took computer course in my school, at that time the monitor was not colourful like right now, all greeeennnnn :D And I think I felt in love when I learned computer, until now at least this is the best thing for me to do my job easier.

When Apple first came out with the very first PCs back in the 70s, I got to use it a little bit. But, I really didn't use one again until I was in college in the late '80s. I didn't start using one on a daily basis until around 1995.

It was in my school when i was 14.We had a subject and so we are taken to computer lab every tuesday to do practicals.But many of us learned only to play games & really we didnt learn anything more that time.It was in my college first year i joined a diploma course where i learned the actual usuage.From that day it has been a part of my life.

i started using them around '93 to draw. they only had low quality BMP files for the most part at the time,it kind of sucked LOL. no such thing as scanners on the open market at the time either-very few websites had a lot of pictures yet.

I started using computer when I was in class 12th in college. In my school there was no computer lesson at that time. When I was studying my bechelor degree I took computer lesson in NIIT and started using internet a little. But from last 3-4 years I am using internet like an internet addict.

oh I am so used to using a computer that I can hardly remember when it was the first time we met...well let me see ...maybe we had a computer in our secondary school and we had some computer lessons...but i think that the first time I was in close relationship with a computer...well it was when I started my universitary course on medicine...since then computers are a part of my job and my personal life and I have always had a laptop so to carry it with me whenever I needed and wherever I needed it..of course I have changed many models during these years!!!

I can't, for the life of me, remember when I first got hold of using computer. All i can remember is that I feel like I'm born with it. I admit though, that I'm not exactly a computer guru. With the onslaught of new technology, I need to keep updating myself on the newest one. :)

The first computer I handled was a 486, with 20 mb of hard disk space. Can you imagine that? That was around the year you were born. Having that amount of hdd space was already something to brag about. Those were the days when entire programs fit into a 1.2 mb floppy disk. More complicated programs would usually require two floppy disk, but not many did. There was no internet then. I remember I created a program in dBase to catalog the books in our private library, but nothing came out of it. Right now, I spend my entire working hours in front of the computer and some more at home and if my wife sees me she complains that I spend more time in front of the pc than with her and the children.

I started when I was 13 years of age but then our computer before in school was using wordstar7.. I started using with internet connection when I was 16. And now this is related to my course that I can use computer every free time.. and even in school....This is my partner in every research and other things.....

I think i have a computer from 10 years by now,but i really start(to enjoy computer) when i put internet in my house...Until then i just used very rarely ... I am one which think that internet is a great invention,maybe the most important from all time..lol augusta

I started using a computer when I was 20 years old and that was at school. Since then I have always been using a computer and it's just become a part of me and I can't be without it. One time it crashed and I was so miserable until I got it repaired.
