Listening to a radio station yesterday, I've heard a reporter say something that's quite interesting to my ears:
The Philippine flag she said is the most unique flag in the world.. I guess this was one observation she got from an international firm or something..
This flag is most unique, she said because apparently it's the only flag on Earth which can be raised in two ways.. When the country is at peace, blue is above but when the country is at war, red is above..
We Pinoys know that since we were young but we take very little notice of it...
Guess this is something we could be proud of - even just a little...

Mabuhay ang Pinoy... Put your hands together, We appreciate that there are observations on the pinoy innovativeness and uniqueness. I am proud to be Pinoy in a lot of aspects, Our flag is really one symbol of our country that displays unique character, reflecting the Philippines uniqueness. May our country overcome every challenge that come. Mabuhay po ang mga Pilipino.

Yes, we should be proud of it becuase of its uniqueness. My boyfriend is a foreigner and he is very amazed about it. But I guess, with the little uniqueness we have, come great undesirable things in our country.
If we summarize the wonders that we have, it is too much for our country to be popular but the dominating factor is the undesirable things that we have.

A lot of symbolism has been placed in the Philippine flag, aside from it being raised 2 different ways for war and peace. We have the 3 stars for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao; the 8 rays of the sun representing the 8 provinces that first revolted against the Spaniards; the white triangle for equality; the blue for peace, truth and justice; red for patriotism and valor; the letter M formed by these three colors that symbolizes our being a Christian and Marian nation. Our ancestors had such high hopes and ideals for our country, it's a shame that most of us do not live up to them.

I do believe that our flag is unique and it is also one of the things in this country taken for granted and not appreciated. I despair on our disrespect for it when we could not even stop when there is a flag ceremony going on in the schools that we pass by to show our respect.

The Philippine Flag is really unique and perhaps the most unique in the world although we can see many unique flags also. But our Philippine flag is very beautiful. I hope we could have honest government officials to be really proud of our country.

I'm proud to be pinoy, and one reason for being that is because of our flag. It is indeed unique, as it has a great story behind the making of it.
Anyway, there are also other nations who raises their flags uoside-down for alot of reasons. In the U.S., they raise their it upside-down as a code of distress.

I already know that our flag can be raised in 2 ways. just now i know that our flag is internationally classified as UNIQUE.. We should be proud. but there are government offices /agencies that the flag they hanged is either decolorising or torn. how sad to see it...

Yes! The three stars and the sun!
I saw the flag which was hoisted with the red side up. This was like a group headquarters of one of those parties who oppose to the government or something which was along Quezon Avenue during that time. But I don't see them anymore so that's that.

I just find the shapes in our flag in perfect symmetry. Even the stars and the sun in the middle. A symbol of balance, burning passion, and hope.
I love the Philippines, and everything about her.

that should definitely make us proud. not much for an award, but hey, its our flag!
but sadly, many filipinos don't understand how important a flag is. many think its just a piece of cloth where you stand up when you see one raised. many don't understand how our heroes fought to have that flag raised on a pole.

OK thanks for your correction. But please dont use Tagalog words. Just in case you havent seen on the guidelines, mylot does not support any other language other than English.
I just wish you have commented on the topic and not on the correctness of my English.
By the way, you should have used 'nang' instead of 'ng'. You have also used a wrong word! Peace out!
Happy posting!
