I used to all the time. But then I learned that I didn't have to. I do try to watch the amounts I put on the plate, but many times, the food is served so I have no control...those times, I do not feel guilty about leaving food on the plate, but I do feel responsible if I served myself.

Thanks for your response, bgerig! Yeah, there really are times when you don't have control...especially during buffets where food servers would just give you food right away.

I only put foods on my plate to which I know I can eat all of it, because I always value the 'grace' coming from Him.
We are only an average-earning family, and we try our best not to waste on everything which we know we cannot have later. So we always try to finish up and empty whatever is in our plate!;)

I am just thankful, and lucky at the same time. While others who are less-fortunate are having a hard time looking for foods to put on their plates, here I am enjoying and wasting some of it. I just can't help but also think, if ever I am on their place then I would also realize the importance of it.

Props for you, Raijin! Thank you for sharing...I have respect for people who value the graces coming from HIM. It's nice to know that your family values the blessings that you receive =)

Maybe it's one of my bad habit not to finish off everything on my place. I usually leaving a spoon or two for I don't know why.

Hi miejanne...thanks for your response. So does this mean that whenever you eat, you don't leave any morsel on your plate? Do you go for seconds?

I eat everything off my plate. I was raised not to waste food, and could not leave the table until everything was finished.

I try maximum to finish off what ever is in my plate, but most of the time I am left with some or other thing. I was taught to eat everything off but was never implementing it. But after coming to Germany I have learned it to stick to it and empty the plate.

your always welcome....well i'm not a chinese..but sometimes i follow their beliefs... since i notice that chinese here in the philippines are always successful in terms of career, business and of course money... maybe their beliefs are really true...so i think that it is not bad to follow their opinions

yep since i always put only enough food on my plate.. but when i'm full i will stop eating although there are some left on my plate.. but some of the chinese here in the philippines said that it is bad luck for them not to finish off everything on your plate.. it is like your wasting your blessings... so they advise me just to put enough food to eat..so that i might be able to finish off everything on my plate...

Thanks for sharing, neenasatine. Are you Chinese? yes, I've heard about that saying as well. I think it's a bit sad if you have a lot of leftovers on your plate...while there are a lot of people around the people who barely have anything to eat in a day, some waste food =/

It has been my habit not to waste anything on my plate, so I just put little amount of food on my plate. If I still want some more then I will just get again. I think of the people who do not have food to eat. I usually remind my sons about this when they complain about the food, as I remind myself sometimes also. I am really grateful to Lord for we always have food on our table.

yes definitely. it's a good habit cultivated at home when i was little. we have been reminded and shown video clips showing that there are many ppl out there with no food to eat. so we cherish our food all the time.

It's a good trait to teach the kids especially while still very young. Kudos to your parents for teaching you this =)
