We've got a whole fleet built up. As far as the cars that are still legal and race ready, we have 3 late models (two limited, one super), 2 IMCA Modifieds and 2 4 cylinder mini-stocks. My s/o drives the late models and one IMCA. His son, a third generation driver, drives the mini's and will be starting his rookie year in IMCA's with the other one.
I still haven't quite worked out the # system here but thought this would be an appropriate way to hit #333. All our car #'s are 33.

That's awesome. My hubby helps several friends build dirt track cars for the local races. We go every Saturday night. I love them. I even like getting spattered with mud. Hubby would love to one day drive, but he works too much, lol. I like the late model modifieds and the sprint cars. That is really neat. Good luck to your rookie. We are also huge drag strip fans, and know many of the drivers in that arena as well. And, of course we love NASCAR.

Dirt racing's great isn't it! Except our local track itself isn't so good, it's more like getting splattered with rocks than with mud but the rumbles and smells and excitement is still the same. Ours runs Fidays and then we do specials on Saturdays and Sundays sometimes. My guy works too much too but but once racing season starts, the cars come first before everything else. I guess you could say it's in his blood, he's got a picture of him when he was around 2 trying to put on his dad's driving suit. His son started racing the mini's when he was 13 and got 5th in track points one year. He's pretty excited to be jumping into the IMCA this year. He's 16 and is sure he can be the next Dale Jr.LOL! Mine would love a sprint car but I had to put my foot down a little. I said no more race cars til he wears out the ones he's got! I think I'd love going to the drag strips but I guess a straight 1/4 mile looks boring to a guy that does 1/4 mile circles so I can't convince him to go.

My oldest son races go-karts on dirt. That's all for now, but if my hubby has his way we will eventually have a fleet of sprint cars ourselves! His friend is building a late model. We go to the races almost every weekend. We have 2 tracks close and we head to Eldora a couple times each summer. My hubby got me hooked soon after we met, he took me to Eldora on a "date" and that was it!

That's so funny! My ex-hubby took me on a "date" to Thunder Mountain (in NY) and got me hooked too! Now I'm with the driver we went to see LOL. He was in street stocks back then.
We used to have two tracks near us. One closed down except for enduro races. The other is where we run the minis and IMCA. We have to drive quite a ways to race the late model so we only go to special races with that.
He bought a quarter midget for his oldest son years ago but he never got to race it. The closest track that it could run on was 3 hours away.
My s/o would love a sprint car. I'm pretty sure he'll settle for putting our boys in them once they're older.
