Why won't anyone read my blog?

I write in my blog every day or every other day, at least! My blog is about children's issues. I write about news stories about things that effect children, children's charities, and other topics. I include links, and illustrations, and polls. So far I've made 21 entries... but only one person has ever commented! I don't know if more people than that have viewed it. The counter thing says 521, but it counts when I visit my own site, as well.
I have entered my site on BlogExplosion, BlogMad, BlogHer, Blogrolling, Technorati, etc, etc, etc. I read other peoples' blogs and comment on them frequently. I ping my blog. I do everything. WHY WON'T ANYONE READ IT?
I'm so hurt.
(Its at http://www.blogcharm.com/4kids , by the way, if you want to see for yourself and tell me what I'm doing wrong!)

Hi,
It's a great blog with some really interesting articles so from that point of view you're off to a good start. Having said that here's some things to consider and that may help when it comes to visitors etc.
Your blog seems relatively new if I'm seeing all that's there your first post was in Feb. so it does take awhile for things to get picked up by the search engines etc. What you'll want to do is get your link out there as much as possible: submit it to the blog directories, feel free to let me know if you want some more information on that, write an article, link it back to your blog and submit it to the free article directories, post in relevant forums etc - that's a few ways to get your blog noticed by the Search Engines.
Also (and this is just my opinion so feel free to ignore me) you may want to make it a little more reader friendly - by that I mean - if possible re-size your tables so that it fits on people's screens - there's no need for them to scroll across to see what's on the right side of the screen (while this may not happen to everyone if you format it it can be set for any screen size)
The music can be a turn off to a lot of people if they plan on reading more than one article (it took me a little while to find the pause button - the whole having to scroll to the side thing :-) ) so maybe not have it set to turn on when the page has loaded.
It is a great blog though so I'm sure the visitors and comments will start building up soon.

I just checked out your blog, and what you have written is absolutely amazing. Your wording is awesome. My only question is is there anyway to maybe list the articles you have written in your blog in some kind of index on your main page? I don't know if that's possible, but for someone like me, it would be very helpful in searching out articles. It's just a thought. But keep up the good work hon. I will try to visit your blog as much as I can. It is incredibly interesting.

Thanks for the kind words! There is list of articles on the sidebar, but I don't think they are ALL listed... just the most recent ones. On Blogcharm you have to do your own html, which I am not all that great at... although I was really proud to have figured out how to do the wallpaper and background music and everything! I will try to figure out how to make an index! Thanks again for the encouragement! I'm glad you liked it!

Wow... Thanks AngelNicki for starting this discussion. Lot of things to learn as I'm also new in blogging and I hope I can learn more on blog writing. I have 3 blogs where I just started it last month. They were:

Great blog! You're doing wonderful and your entries are very good.
I agree with one of the other posters... I had to scroll back and forth to be able to read it and that is a turn off for me. And I do not like music on a site at all. I often get online at work (which I'm allowed to do), but when someone has music on a site and I open it at work, I close it immediately! I don't want music playing from someone's webpage and bother someone else.
I did leave a comment, but it came up anonymous because I'm not a member of BlogCharm.
I'm new to all of this too, so I may be way off base with my comments to you! lol! Feel free to check out my blog and let me know what you think about it:

It usually takes a while for a blog to take off. You have a great start, but these things take time!!! Good luck!

Hi, AngelNicki! I think your blog's content is great! I have a hard time reading it though. I think you need a bit more contrast between your text and your background. Meaning, dark text and light background or vise versa -- this will make reading easier. Also, the text seems too big for me, maybe you can decrease the size. I can't comment on the music, because I've set my computer volume to "mute" but personally ( this is just me), I don't like music or sounds on websites. Anyhow, I think it's a great site with lots of potential, and the fact that it supports such a great cause is a big bonus!
I have started a thread on reading each others' blogs. Maybe you'd want to head on over and add your blog to it. Here's the link: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/899833.aspx
Good luck!

You need to make some noise. Interact with other people, read their blogs and make sure you always link back to your own. I post on several different blogging sites: Gather, 360, myspace, Care2, so when I update one, it goes out to all others as well and a wider community can share what I have to say.
I would also recommend you get involved in some other communities that center around kids and families and share your blog there, let others know you're sharing experiences for the greater benefit of children everywhere.
Most importantly, don't give up. Just keep going going going.

In any kind of business be it writing or anything that needs peoples attention one needs to market it well. The masrketting needs to be catchy and effective.Dont we alkl how how all humans have short term memories the more their meets our lines the more they will remember.Incite them by appearing more and more near their vision once their curiosity takes the better oif them they will search.
