That around the world AMERICA and AMERICANS are considered people that have a lot of money ... And they are the powerful nation .... Thats why they all want to be here ... But did you know they also have a reputation that they will sue people at the drop of a hat ?????? Now here I go again about the Money issue .... Don't ya think its a sad state of affairs when a nation is looked at like that ? Don't get me wrong I'm not thinking that all people in America do that ..its what I have heard in my travels around the world ... I usually defend Americans but when a country is all about money and capitalism ... and everyone is out for the buck ... What is there left to think by people who dont understand the Ideals or dont believe we live by those ideals .... What have we done to show them its not like that? Or is it thats just how they want to see it .... I'm just playing Devil's Advocate Here ... Want your opinions ..... What do you think? And for all of you out there that want to come here so bad ... just to let you know you can make more money in other countries ... if thats what you really want ... and pay less taxes ....

Hi! I'm an Asian. I am currently working in a global polling firm, located in Pennsylvania. The name of my company is TNS. I did one survey about the current issues affected Americans and that was political season. Before I was in this work, I perceived USA as an ideal place where money is so easy to get and life is comfortable. But then after listening to american citizen's woes, I concluded, life is same as anywhere else. Life is even easier in Philippines. It may be a third world country but people are happy, life is less complicated. In america, life is all work. Duh! so stressful...

i am an american and to be honest your right most do think about money money money. it is sad. personally i am not one that puts money high on my list. i know that sounds odd. as long as i can make it and my kids are taken care of i feel good. yes more money would be great but i can not and will not get over on another person to get it. my mom , sister, uncles, etc are all about money and standing in community. it makes me sick in fact i dont go around them because of it. now i cant say i dont like money cause i do but i want honest money and not at the sake of someone else. america seems like a place that has money but they dont really most are just living a life they can not afford. credit cards maxed, loans here, etc. they have to keep up with the jones. i have had people tell me that my kids can not play with there kids cause i live in a mobile and drive a car that is over 10 years old and i dont let my kids have cell phones etc. americans are more about cirlces of people and most circles come with a price tag. i am not saying all are like that but alot are. people that come from other places to here are alot like that as well. america does have alot of poor, homeless, starving people in it as well to. we just dont let them be seen as much as other places do. america tries to hide there poor insted.

Absolutely ... there is such a dichotomy between the rich and poor in this country its amazing ... I have seen it in so many parts of America ... I was stand in a ward in Huston one time and looking down the street ..not a block away was a mercedes benz dealship and a high rise building where corporate america resided ... so amazing to me to see so many with so much and then see a woman selling roses at a turnpike to feed her family ... damn .. thanks for your comments ... peace and prayers ..i know how you feel ... thanks again

So true, thank you for your comments... I wish everyone could see and do something ... about a week ago i was driving and saw a guy with a sign that said i will take food ... i first passed him by but i got a block away and just said i cant pass him by even tho i dont have a job right now and i dont have much money ..there by the grace of god go i ... i am driving and am able to help so i went back picked him up and bought him what ever he wanted to eat ... i say this only cause we sometimes judge someone like that and say well its his own fault ... but maybe its not .. maybe his situation made this ... so i just think we all need to do something for the ones right here at home ... we dont need to run all over the world to try to help ...lets get our people help first then we can help those around the world if they want it ...call me crazy but there are so many here ... we dont need to look far ...

No I didn't know that but I can believe it. It seems to be true. I know a lot of people who are sue happy. I believe what goes around comes around. I have two neighbors that are both sue happy. They both have nice Motor Homes from money they won in lawsuits from being hurt on the job. They both milked it for all it was worth. So I know that we are a sue happy United States but didn't think about other countries thinking that of us. Unfortunately it is like that. Not all people are like this but yes I think the majority are.

So very true. Quite often, America is painted as the free country where freedom of speech is much practised and everyone can be rich there. But I think the capitalist culture has made America into a corporate country which controls much of the world's economy after World War 2. A slight drop in Dow Jones will affect the stock market anywhere in the world. I think the reason why Americans sue people at a drop of a hat, as you put it, is due to the reason that they have a greater sense of protection of self rights. In other country, people don't usually do that because they don't have that kind of means and awareness. After the recent news stating that housing market in America is going through a slump and GDP growth is only 2% or more, I think it's not easy making a living in America. One has to have a lot of wits, wisdom, experience of spirit of entrpeneurism to strike it big. Especially with all that taxes. =P

Did you know that calling people from the USA Americans actually really annoys people in South and Central america who are also all americans. America is a huge continent and not just the USA. Also , not everyone wants to live in the USA - I certainly dont, I dont like the culture. I have nothing against the citizens that live there , some are nice & some are idiots (like the president) like any country. I dont want to live in such a pushy, greedy, material society - my birth place the UK is heading in the same way - thats why I dont want to live there also. http://makingmoneywith.blogsome.com/

Well like any other country, the americans may have a character of their own. But one thing for sure is, if you are from a less develop country, you will always dream of working in america. Cause you will be earning more to send to your family.
