Don't you think having spell check on MyLot would be a good idea

Definitely! I'm so spoiled by having spell checker on my computer. I've never been the best speller in the world, but I do know a lot of the spelling rules. It is just that my fingers don't seem to know the same rules!
Of course, spell checker doesn't always solve the problem. If my typo error spells a real word but not the one I intended, it doesn't correct that.
I still think computers should come with a "do what I want" key.

A "do what I want" key would be nice, but for now you just have to show it some tough love every now and then (i.e. knock the bejeezus out of it and yell out lots of erm. . ."words of encouragement" at it, lol).

I would be in the same boat, if I didn't have my own spell check I downloaded it free off the net it is called ieSpell, and it is simple to use and also comes with the option of what dictionary you use I get general , language and dictionaries. I am also very poor at punctuation, and have not yet downloaded a grammar check but who knows so far so good.

I use Mozilla Firefox and it spell checks for me which is really nice. If you want to check out mozilla.com it really is worth it to switch to that browser instead of Internet Explorer for that and many other reasons.

Yeah, that would be nice, but I'd really like to see an "edit" button or something for those times when you spelled everything correctly but accidentally typed something twice or just didn't like the way you worded something but it's too late. I'd also like to see some text formatting, nothing crazy, but some simple bold, italics, underlining, and support for links would be nice.

If you use Firefox, it comes with a spellchecker built in. But, I could use an edit button that allows you to edit within a certain length of time.

I think this would be a great idea. I know sometimes where there are misspelled words, a word will be underlined with a red line to let you know. I am not sure how many people know of this. It does not help with spelling the word correctly though if one does not know the correct way to spell it.

I think it might be a good idea, but honestly with the grammar and spelling I see around here it really wouldn't surprise me to see just as many mistakes.
I personally use Firefox 2 which has spell checking for everything I type automatically, so its not really a problem unless I just get lazy and ignore it.

You should check Oldbuddy's discussion on that topic
www.mylot.com/w/discussions/104267.aspx
He gives a great tip for those who uses internet explorer and still would like to be able to use a spellcheck
Hope it helps you ... but you know we all do that ;-) ... nobody's perfect

I think it would be a great idea. I'm not good at spelling at all, and I really like it how word automatically changes the words I spell wrong for me so I don't even have to check them.

It would be a nice addition, I try to proof my posts before I send them but I've been known to miss a few boo boos.
An occasional typo isn't bad, but I hate whend people use texting abbreviations: UR, ppl, etc.

I do it too, sometimes by accident. I am starting to think I should do previews for all mine. I dont always spell wrong on purpose. Sometimes I type SO fast (my mom says I type so fast it sounds rain??) I dont realize that I typed something wrong till I re-read later on *L*
I would love spellcheck. That would be cool. You can edit only if you do preview!

I would love to have a spell check on myLot. I am making so many stupid mistakes right now, probably from typing too fast and not paying enough attention, that I would welcome the chance to not look like an idiot when I write. LOL.
