I have being teaching English in China for nearly 3 years, mainly in listening , writing, reading and speaking, of which I like writing best. About writing teaching, I often spend much time teaching the writing skills. sometimes when i set about writing something, only the skills take up my head. Even worse, they push out my original feeling. so I can't help thinking of my students. Maybe it is the same with them.so should the writing skills matter?

im not really sure what you mean by "even worse, they push out my original feeling".
but certainly writing skills are very important. speaking is of course more important but reading and writing are hand in hand.
there are times you must communicate through the written word only...for example Mylot.
