Does your child like a book or tv show that you hate?

My son likes the book "Go Dog Go" and I hate it. Usually I make his father read that one. As far as TV shows go he loves one called "Lunar Jim" which is on at 7:30 AM. I don't know if it's because I've seen every episode 100 times, or because it's on so early, but I could take the TV and hurl it out the window when it comes on. To add insult to injury, the theme song gets stuck in my head. :)

I don't mind the programmes my daughter likes she is really into a new programme called the night garden.

I think your son is just attracted to the colorful graphics and the music but don't worry, he will outgrew it. My daughter loves the Wiggles so much and my husband can't stand it. She got all DVD's for it...so it is like if we ask her what program she wanted to watch, it will always be Wiggles. She outgrew it and we got rid of all her DVD's and sell at Ebay. Now she is into Wee Sing and it is constant that we memorized all the songs on it and can even sing it in our sleep...=) But we just assured ourselves that she will change her preferences soon.

Well, DS is only 15 months and I'm a SAHM, so I can monitor more of what he does. I don't like Barney or the Wiggles and I just don't let him know that they exist. LOL! I'm sure he'll learn eventually, but I don't need to encourage it!

i don't like mr. bean but my son does.o just don't know what's with him that is so lovable.

Lazy town is pretty annoying! When my kids were younger they really enjoyed the "Teletubbies" which more freaked me out than annoyed me. "Barney" was definetly on my 'hate' list. His big purple head was creepy and his arms seemed way too short. "I have a big head and really short arms." At least the message in that show was pretty good, but seeing my kids dancing around like little Barney's was a sure way for me to turn it off!

I've seen Lazy Town, it is stupid but the shows that I really really can't stand that the kids like are Wonder Pets, Doodlebops, Wow Wow Wubbzy. OMG, especially the Wonder Pets, I just hate them, they're so dumb and the voices are so irritating it makes me want to scream! I change the channel or I leave the room but I pretty much can't be in the same room with the Wonder Pets. I don't mind most of the other cartoons, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Blue's Clues, Backyardigans, Spongebob but those Wonder Pets....yuk!

now it's Pokemon and all their weird cartoons. I hate them all. When they were little it was Barney & Teletubbies.. they'd watch but I swear I just wanted to hurl !!!!

Yes I allow to see my kid, if the show is not harmful. I mean, there might be some shows that we might watch which the kids might not approve of or like, but we do see, because we like them. So why not let kids see what they want to. Afterall, they are kids and would watch some silly kids shows. But its okay, as they grow up there choices change, but till then let them be kids , right?
