Sabbath day, Saturday or Sunday?

I have been researching this topic, and really seeking God's face to know if it really matters, which day that we put aside to rest. I do believe in taking a day to just refresh and reflect on the Lord and just relax. What is your perspective from your experiences if you believe in or practice the sabbath day?

I think very few people take time off to recognize the sabbath anymore. Especially now with all business staying open every day of the week. People have to work weekends all the time.

Today is so fast paced and I do believe many well meaning Christians find it hard to practice the sabbath day. I've been making a committment to take one day of the week as my sabbath. I really can feel the difference in my life by taking one day to rest, just pray and read my word without working or thinking of bills. But I do still have that question about if it has to be on a Saturday.

I'd love to be in a position where I could have a day off a week, but if I did that the bills wouldnt get paid. I have to work somehow every single day of the week, 365 days a year. I even work on Christmas day (usually I knit something that I can sell later). I really don't know how people manage to make enough money the res of the week to not need to be busy on the sevent. In an ideal world I'd be a lot more self sufficient, but even then, whilst the money would be less important I'd still need to garden, deal with the animals and all that, so I just can't see it as a possibility.

It can be a challenge. But for me, when I take a day of rest, I am so much more productive in every area of my life. Personally, I feel it is very important for your health and wellbeing in the long run to rest from all the hustle and bustle in life.
Taking a sabbath(DAY OF REST), helps me to build my faith in God and I trust in HIM. I trust God to open doors and provide favor where it's needed to meet every need in my life. God is truly faithful.

A couple of thoughts;
1. Jesus said the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. In other words, it was created for us by God so that we could have a day of rest. (Mark 2:27)
2. In Romans 14:5, it says, "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
It all boils down to "for whatsoever is not of faith is sin."
You must settle it in your own mind and know that God will honor your faith.
Also (ok, three thoughts), the Sabbath day ordinance was one of the Laws that the Jews had to obey. We are not under the law, but under grace. That's why you must settle this between you and God.

Good insight. Thanks for sharing. The Sabbath is for man and man not for the Sabbath is one of the scriptures that a Pastor used to try and help me understand his viewpoint that the day of the week isn't important.

I don't know if it matters which day is the day of rest. If it did, I think Saturday would be the correct day. But the Christian religion generally observes it on Sunday because of the ressurection. So I observe it on Sunday. Even then it's not like when I was a kid. I remember everything being closed on Sundays. You had to go to the store on Saturday because Sunday was specail. Then it changed over time and the only thing that sets it apart now seems to be whether you go to church or not.

Yes, the day of rest as a part of the Christian faith does seem to be slipping away. I believe that's why God put it back on my heart. But it's so hard for me to see that it must be Saturday. Cause I know some professions would have to work on Saturdays, like police officers, emergency people, and so on and so forth. So this makes me thing that maybe it's more about relationship than a religious law. this is a tough one for me.
