When you child has his or her´s birthday do you prepare a birthdaycake yourself or do you buy one at the bakery. I always buy one at the bakery but I would like to bake one myself. Not just a cake but a special one. And the most important it has to taste great and sweet. Is it hard to bake a good and tasty birthdaycake and who has a good receipe and tips and trics.

I always make my own. Store bought are ok, but taste too overly sweet for my tastes. I prefer to make my own, and i try to make them very special. Buying fun pans with cool shapes. Or making a regular cake shape into something cool so that the cake is special for him.

That with the pan shapes is a good idea. I just saw one in the shape off a heart. Very nice. A good idea for my daughters birthday.

i always make my sons i dont really like the bought ones since the icing is just way too sweet for me. i buy the premade mix's. last year i made him a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and then sprinkled MNM's over it since he loves them. this year though i think i may make one from scratch.. perhaps find a nice banana cake (not bread) recipe since he loves bananas, and maybe add some chocolate to it as well or something..

I cook my kids cakes myself. It is very hard to buy vegan cakes and I know what they like.
I don't really have a recipe for one I cook as I tend to change it every time. However there are a few on this website that might help you:

I always buy a ice cream cake for my kids birthday. But regular cake mixes you buy now are pretty good to make and then have to buy a cake decorating kit to decorate. Just takes so much time to do and seems so much easier to buy. I also like to make an angel food cake and mix whipped topping and strawberries together and frost the cake with it so good.
