Eco one runs on bio-fuels and bio-lubricants has tires made of potatoes and brake pads made of cashew nut shells. The car can run with a speed up to 150mph (241km/h) and will be shown at the Sexy Green Car Show. Almost everything on the car can be made out of biodegradable or recyclable materials. I have heard before about two scientists who created a hi-tech material made from carrots which could be used to make warships in the future. The material, known as Curran, has been developed by Fife-based inventors David Hepworth and Eric Whale and can be made into everything from fishing rods to car parts. Vegetables not only for vegans? Hmmm…Can I make my Refrigerator from corn? Can we recycle all vegetables?

Earth - Wonder? hehe
lol if people can make Refrigerator from corn, then i wanna have a house made by water, i mean it must be pure water in liquid form, not solid like ice, no. lol Well people tend to dicover lots of things make lots of things that we thought that its impossible to do, but then we're just getting surprised by those things so, lets just wait what they will bring up next. hehe Have a nice day ahead from Francis.

It's great to see that people are trying to make recycling of everything. It's one of the most important thing at the moment. If everyone do recycling we will all benefit. I have heard of houses made only of recycled material but a car is a very impressive thing to do with recycled material.

Well, that's amazing. Is the day approaching when we go to the refrigerator, and find it's as bare as Mrs. Hubbard's cupboard, not to worry we can eat the fridge. Where do you find all this interesting stuff?

The floor mats and spare wheel cover in the Toyota Raum are also made of potatoes. Well to be truthful these are currently made from their Eco-Plastic, which seems to be derived from the starch of of renewable crops like kenaf, sugar cane and corn. But they are investigating sweet potatoes from Indonesia. They absorbs CO2 while growing and can be composted after useful life. http://www.innovations-report.com/html/reports/automotive/report-81314.html

I wish I had one of these cars. I hate the waste that goes into making cars and how bad for the environment they are. I dont' have a car of my own but I do borrow my ex's for taking the kids around sometimes and I wish there was a more environmentally friendly option (that was also cheap!!).

well I know that there are many possibilities...it was just yesterday that I was talking with my father about the fact that oil companies don't want the development of new strategies...it is well known that we could use hydrogen that is water to fuel our cars but there is no interests towards this kind of research...scientists says they can prove that these cars would be safe and that this fuel is not costing very much...my father told me that many years ago they developed a model using pork oil as fuel...there are many possible strategies....but there is no interests...why?

There is no interest, because oil companies will lose huge profit. Also, with let say electric cars, there is nothing to be malfunction and need to be repair. Car companies are making more money selling parts, than cars. It is all about money.
